[Submission] HoSk equipment was created by chrisn101
Liv nan zonbi a wa v1
(Hoping Google Translates' Haitian Creole is correct - "Book of the King Zombie")
Unique equipment
HoSk / Samedi
1 pool
The vampire with this equipment has superior Thanatosis
.
Recruiting or employing Zombies cost 1 less blood and are at +1 stealth.
Flavour text
"Lid on coffin cold
Return was foretold
Barrel, box, or bloody sack
Planted deep they still come back"
GWAR - "Zombies, March!"
Art notes
Similar to The Sargon fragment. A book bound in stitched skin... it looks extremely organic.
How does this card address a compelling game need?
There are many equipments that grant a superior-level discipline (e.g. The Sargon Fragment www.secretlibrary.info/index.php?lib=927) presumably as an easy way to enable a vampire with no levels in a discipline to play cards requiring the superior version. This equipment would be primarily of use to Giovanni/Samedi decks or Harbinger/Samedi decks.
Ruins of Derinkuyu v1
Unique equipment HoSk
1 pool
This equipment card represents a location and does not count as equipment while in play.
Once per turn, you may discard a card to give +2 stealth to this acting minion (do not replace until the discard phase).
This vampire may burn this equipment before range is determined to end combat, untapping this vampire (opposing minion cannot untap until their untap phase).
Flavour text
"The passages of Derinkuyu run far and deep. Were you to lose your way, you may never escape".
- Egothha.
Art notes
A rock altar in one of the underground rooms. Plenty of images and information about Derinkuyu .
How does this card address a compelling game need?
Enables HoSk to gain stealth (sorely needed when they can easily bleed for three using Trochomancy ). With some older HoSk knowing Thanatosis, possible to use in a HoSk Dead Hookers deck.
Kaymakli gets mentioned several times in VTES, but its sister city of Derinkuyu doesn't.
The skull mask of Derinkuyu v1
Unique equipment HoSk
2 pool
The vampire with this equipment gains a level of Obfuscate (
) and Thanatosis (
) if they do not already possess superior levels of those disciplines.
Once per turn, any card requiring Necromancy or Thanatosis costs one less blood.
If blocked, during the first round of combat this vampire gains an optional maneuver and the opposing minion's first strike is at -1 damage.
Flavour text
"Them bones, them bones, them dry bones
All bleached and deathly white
I've got skeletons in my closet and
They're rattlin' tonight"
- "Skeletons In My Closet" by The Fat Man and Team Fat (From the 7th Guest ).
Art notes
Some images of ancient stone skull masks can be found here , although not very menacing - something this more modern mask manages to be.
How does this card address a compelling game need?
In lieu of a path for HoSk, reduces blood cost and other minor effects.
As a bonus, an equipment granting one level of two disciplines is a bit different, allowing the equipping HoSk to access Samedi disciplines.

Hey Chris. I love your passion for Harbingers of Skulls and I hope you continue coming up with new ideas. Here is some general feedback to you here about your submissions.
When I get to the section "How does this card address a compelling game need?" I find that you simply restate the effects of the card(s). Take a look above, for example: you wrote a card that grants disciplines and reduces the cost of some other cards, whose compelling game need is... well, it grants disciplines and reduces costs.
Here are some targeted questions I have that may help readers understand why you have designed these cards. Consequently, they may help you figure out just what you want to accomplish with new cards.
1. How does this card build upon a strength of the clan/discipline?
2. How does this card reinforce the clan's/discipline's theme?
3. How does this card reinforce or exhibit a weakness of the clan/discipline?
4. How does this card improve or mitigate a weakness of the clan/discipline?
5. Should all clans and disciplines have access to all the same effects? A subset of effects (e.g. hunting grounds, stealth, etc.)?
6. Does the card mimic an existing card? If so, what are the differences and how do they affect the way the card interacts with the game?
7. Did you play test the card? I mean in an actual game. Was it fun for you? Was it fun for the other players? (Hint: Baltimore Purge for Harbingers would not be.)
8. What kind of effect do you think it will have on the META game? Is the result desirable? Ask your play testers.

Having taken feedback on these forums from others, I'll discuss with my friends tonight (as we are meeting up for a game or two anyway). I'll ask about play testing.
I'll collate all submissions into an evaluation matrix using your points and playtesting notes if that is helpful, but won't have the time to do so until my studies finish next month however.
That's all my Samedi / HoSk ideas submitted now, with a few from finding Mortis
Should be a lot quieter hereon out.
