Two attempts at trying to make discipline cards more playable, using crypt resources. My goal was to try to make discipline masters more playable without making them super duper awesome or making crypt construction utterly redundant. Obviously, exact costs, numbers of cards, side benefits (drawing another card etc.) are all up for grabs - I'm just interested to see what people think.
The cards are vampires-ish, in that they get influenced out and can interact with other crypt-y mechanics (e.g. you play Bear Baiting). I set them up to remove themselves from the game, though, so they're not 'real' minions, so - in terms of card layout - I think it'd be fine if the text box got a little bigger.
Since they target discipline cards (i.e. with the keyword), they don't let you get out, for example, Spontaneous Power (only a Discipline card when in play) or Blooding by the Code (not a Discipline card). Nor Trophy: Discipline (not a Discipline).
I left the "draw a replacement card" off mark one, because it puts both cards in play, whereas mark 2 still requires you to actually play them - but obviously, poke that about if you feel like it.

Edification (mark 1)
Caitiff. 1 cap. Independent.
When Edification enters play, you may search your hand, library and/or ash heap for up to two Discipline cards. (Shuffle library afterwards, if searched.) Move each card to a different unique minion who would be a legal target if it was played normally, then remove Edification from the game.
Edification (mark 2)
Caitiff. 1 cap. Independent.
When Edification enters play, you may search your hand, library and/or ash heap for up to three Discipline cards. (Shuffle library afterwards, if searched.) Move those cards to your Research area. For the rest of the game, you can play those cards from your Research area during your master phase as Trifles. Remove Edification from the game, and move the top card of your crypt to your uncontrolled region.

Discipline convert? Sounds fun. Research area needs either more use or to dissapear completely.
Question: Why is access to disciplines a compeling game need? (I play off-clan disciplines a lot and it tends to be very fun but what kind of things need extra help, I mean, they can be done today with a different master-slots build)

I like the concept a lot — I miss that aspect of Lilith's Blessing (discipline without using a master phase).
Am not fond of the Research Area variant simply because the Research Area seems like an unnecessary game complexity:
When Edification enters play, you may search your hand, library and/or ash heap for up to three Discipline cards (shuffle library if searched). Put these cards face-up in front of you. For the rest of the game, you can play these cards as Trifle Master cards. Remove Edification from the game, and move the top card of your crypt to your uncontrolled region.
I like the idea of having the option of keeping the minion in play, something like:
When Edification enters play, you may search your hand, library and/or ash heap for a Discipline card (shuffle library if searched). You may remove Edification from the game to retrieve an additional Discipline card. Move each card to one or more minions that would legal targets if it was played normally.
Also removed the "unique minion" clause to open it up to more minions (typically the minions who you want to play discipline cards on).

James,
Can we let the Research Area die a quiet unmarked death?
Otherwise, it seems like we're trying to plug game gaps with "Anarch Converts". I dunno if that is going to do heaps.
I potentially would like to see more 'tutoring' vampires such as variations on Lord Ashton which fit thematically in the game.
Some Dude, the Tutor
Cap 8
((insert disciplines here))
Sect. Younger vampires you control may take an action to gain a Discipline from your Ash-heap, Library or Hand as a +1 stealth action; tap Some Dude to give that action an additional +1 stealth.

Because it is a not particularly impressive design feature, that doesn't seem to add significant complexity to player interactions (just another form of deck manipulation), and otherwise slows the game.
So, a slow quiet death for an idea that will not do much to interaction between minions and players.
