I feel like this card is pretty much:
Balanced
Needed
Not game breaking, but great for gargoyles.
As is, Ian and agent of power, etc can use it for the 3 relevant cards, that's the only potential danger at all.
@ Ben: even then, Gargoyles just spent 5+ pool in 2 actions, and such at defending it or gaining more.
I'm pretty much sold. I was thinking up something similar with a "Flesh of my stone" sort of name.

That's pool they were going to spend anyway, only now they're getting Rock Cats out twice as fast. No, thanks.

True. Even awful gaygoyles I find pool for a rock cat, especially with disarm in hand. Now, Razor bat I play, because I have to try to not die, even if it kills me. I think stone dog is the card I draw, count my pool, look at my preys ready region and realize I have JUST enough pool to play Dog, freak drive, dog rush, as the crow, divebomb and then.... Get ousted by convert bleeding for one.
I'll concede Cat doesn't need much love, (hell, thanks to you I have more than 2, and 3/5 have the httb logo on them...) But we have playability problems with two awesome retainers, because Indy gargoyles are Ferox+erinyi+obsidian, or lonesome roccia or malachai. I'm hoping 1 slave TOPS and then plenty of G5 buddies, and we can have slow tier3 tactics without even using library cards in the new set.
But building on what's already here, tutoring retainers makes more sense than "search your deck for armor of Terra and preternatural strong" being a card.
People seem excited about gargoyles; Indy ones suck so bad, playable gargoyles are almost like adding a new clan.
