You're not the only one who thinks that way. I agree, and I know at least one person in my playgroup who has said the same thing.
It all comes from the Sabbat set. The designers held very closely to the printed RPG rules, which said that Brujah and Brujah antitribu were different clans. If you see a clan as being an organization, then yes; if you see a clan as being related to disciplines and weaknesses, then no. Of course, the Toreador antitribu and Malkavian antitribu were markedly different from their peers in the Camarilla (as were the !Ventrue because of a typo). This probably pushed them into making completely new clans.
Now they play with the sects of vampires a lot, except that antitribu are never Camarilla and Camarilla are never antitribu. And neither antitribu nor Camarilla are ever Laibon, although just about every other clan might be.
Personally I think they should have made the Sabbat focused on the Lasombra and Tzimisce, since according to the RPG, most Sabbat members come from those clans. 20 Lasombra and Tzimisce each, 10 !Malk, 10 City Gangrel (their own clan), 6 of each of the others, except for only 2 !Tre because there were literally only a dozen !Tre in the RPG. Thaumaturgy becomes a Camarilla exclusive discipline (since in the RPG the Sabbat hated it) and the Sabbat gets their own sect-based disciplines.

Honestly guys, arguing about why the !Ventrue have
is really a horse that has LONG gone bolted. So please, stick to the point of the thread which is to debate the usefulness of those vampires in the G5 spot.
@Klaital: How did I know the first thing you'd say is "They are underpowered" and that you'd wish for
or maybe
on at least one or two of them. You're very predictable. You basically seem to want every large-cap vampire to have three things: Dominate, an Untap Discipline (pref
), and a stealth discipline (
or
). Seriously, you do seem to operate one idea of how to play the game and that's in 5th-Gear Prey-Kill-Mode.

I didn't say they are underpowered because of what discplines they have or don't have, but because they had too few points of stuff in general for their capacity. Suggesting Obt isn't just to have access to random stealth but to have synergy with the already existing group four 10 cap !Ventrue, Bruce de Guy who is the only titled !Ventrue with obteneration in groupings that you can play him in. So it would actually be nice to you know have some other vampires to play with him to make a decent crypt with?
For costing for example, 8 caps get 9 points of stuff, your 8 cap only has 8 points, 6 points for discplines, 1 point for 2 votes, and 1 point for the decent special. Same goes for the other vampires, they are all pretty much missing one point of stuff.

for some reason, I can't even see the vampires being discussed here. I assumed they were in the first post but they're not visible to me at all
Actually, speaking of !Ventrue, I had an idea for them a while ago, for a !Ventrue vampire special ability. Basically, like Anneke, except limited to political actions, in order to show off the 'anti-politics' of the !Ventrue.
So something like this ability, let's call him, I don't know, "Bradley" for lack of something better to call him:
"Bradley may attempt to block political actions performed by vampires controlled by another Methuselah, ignoring the normal predator and prey restrictions for blocking actions."
And of course he'd have

I think that G5 ventrue antitribu could be more focused on
I belibe that G2-4 was better in
, and
I think about examples of vampires:

black hand

(not proposed "Wendel" with
like Neighbor John from G4)

bishop
Ottavia is way to strong + 1 intercept + 1 str and
It would be a killing machine, with support from Neighbor John
And she could use superrior version of forced march.
I would change her as follows:

regent +1 intercept + 1 str

OR
She could be as she is, but with G6 not G5 , in that case you would have two different possibilities of !ventrue wall, base on neighbor or base on big cap star
