Storylines are GREAT!
But I haven't tried other variants yet.

Only played the last two storylines, and while I had fun playing I wouldn't miss them.
The Nergal one for example on the other hand seems very interesting. Or the Cultists (mostly the ones changing the game mechanics to a great degree.)

Yep Storylines are my favorite variant. By the way I would like if Storylines have a major role in VTES. I was a player and tournament organizer for "Legend of the Five Rings" and "Warlord" for many years, and liked so much the capability to change the game story and settings.
I know the same may not work with VTES.
I need to play one BYO Storyline some day. I have great ideas for that such tournaments. But couldn't made the minds yet of the players in my playground.

I have only really played Storyline Variants. I've been tempted to play Rapid Thought... but realistically I think that Official Storyline and BYO Storyline would be the main variants I would play.
However, after the recent thread on the Usenet Group, I'd be tempted to make a number of Alternate Edges.

Battle for Los Angeles, of course. I won the first one! With the Torrance Circle It was a BYO storyline. Really, I enjoy the storyline tournaments so a BYO storyline is no different. is a powerful mix. (especially when only one or two decks are even equipped to deal with it.)
