Newbie, tempted by the POD shift

You don't NEED to have a Prince in order to start a playgroup.

Obviously you can demo game (to whomever) without being a Prince.

Basically if you want to have a sanctioned tournament later on then you need a Prince for that. But I'd say before this happens, no need to involve Prince title to the equation.

Well, on the upside, you and I are in the same federal judicial circuit!

I'm another new guy. I've wanted to play VTE for absolutely yonks but stood literally no chance at all building a community asking people to get their cards on eBay and the like; I'll be very interested to see what Black Chantry come up with for their distribution method.

the proxy demo decks are also a good place to start! All you have to do is cut and sleeve!

Yeah, with the proxies trying out with these pre-made decks doesn't really cost you anything else than just a little time.

AFAIK, Black Chantry will be presenting a starter box (for several people) in undetermined time in the future. I've let myself believe that they'll first do the east part of reprints to gather some capital and then try to get those starters out there one way or another (I believe Kickstarter used to be one method that was mentioned several years ago when people were throwing ideas to wall to see if they stuck).

We'll see what the future brings up.
