file Best way for new players to learn?

18 Aug 2020 11:38 #100562 by Janous
I've been wanting to learn the game since '94, and some friends and I were talking card games, and when I brought this one up they mentioned being interested in learning it as well.

With cards currently being hard to come by, what's the best way for a small group of people to learn how to play the game? Are there tutorial decks out there that can be found?

Thanks!

Hi!
The game is back in print thanks to Black Chantry Productions.
Check their website: www.blackchantry.com/

They have quite a few products and most of them are for beginers.

Check if there are any active group in your local area, you can check it in the Player Registry section.

There are also many videos on youtube that you can checkand webs/blogs explaining the game.

Hope it helps you!

Swing by the prince list and contact your local prince (organizer).
Let us know where you’re located, and someone might reach out.
There is also the VEKN Facebook page and several discord servers, if that’s more your fancy.

The best way to learn is from experienced players. As mentioned, purchasing cards has become somewhat simpler the past couple of years :)

Demoing with tournament level decks is not a good idea.

First Blood decks would be much better suited for that purpose.

Of better yet, try these demo decks that purposefully contain
A) Very few different cards
B) Only cards with very limited amount of text in them

Run the first demo with these and you'll see that people will learn the core mechanic of the game better since they do not have to stress about sensory overload. After the game switch over the First Blood decks and then to preconstructed ones.

Proxy Demo Decks are a great place to start for learning how to play!
