Cost value on Kuyén

Regarding card text for Kuyén: “Animals (allies and retainers) cost Kuyén -1 blood or pool.”

I get that everyone probably understands “-1” to mean “1 fewer”, but technically this is saying the actual value of the cost is -1, meaning Kuyén gains 1 blood or pool. It may be a good idea to explain somewhere that + and - signs in card text signify cost modifications and are not actual costs in “cost x blood/pool” language.

See Anne-Marie's text history and it's current cardlist.txt to see how BCP has deemed the requirement for reminder texts and whatnot to be in the future. First it was similar to Black Cat, then fewer, then -1. Unless card specifies it via text, there is no way to gain "credit" in VTES.

And in case people have forgotten what crediting was in VTES, here;

If people are not convinced, should bleed that started with 1 and is after two peacemakers at -3 give target Methuselah 3 pool just because it was not worded "reduce bleed"?

Or do we play a game where the rules have not designated negative blood or pool counters thus they cannot affect the game? What happens when you take away something from nothing. can you have twice as much nothing? Is VTES working with classical physics or does quantum mechanics just sometimes spawn pool counters in? Are you truly trying to play to win if you're not counting for those effects? Is it cheating if nobody can prove or disprove that your extra pool counters tunneled to existence? What about the - strength in combat, do vampires with negative strength and thus negative handstrike give blood/life to opposing vampire, or ally? Should we keep some reminder texts in still? Should we have kept that part of the old rulebook instead of it being tossed away with the bay and the bathwater? How many non-vekn regulars are playing Raven Spies with Kuyen and choosing their cost to be "1 blood and -1 pool" thanks to Kuyen's ability thus gaining a blood doll effect with every employ... And does it really matter if some group is spending time together playing the game like that?
