Hi Abraham,
on JOL just watch or use the main chat window to organize games. Someone always asks for RT (real time) WT (work time, so certain breaks expected) or QK (quick, checking twice per day).
You need an admin to create the game, but usually there are some.
Then there's the JOL league, organized by JHATTARA, you can ask him to be added to league games.

If at all possible, I would recommend learning the game by playing in person. Learning by Lackey could be a bit difficult, let alone the all-text JOL. Seeing actual cards is usually helpful.

Oh, he's no VTES newb AFAIK, just a JOL newbIf at all possible, I would recommend learning the game by playing in person. Learning by Lackey could be a bit difficult, let alone the all-text JOL. Seeing actual cards is usually helpful.
