Congratz Matt, you deserve it. Nice report btw!!!

Your report reminds me of the dialog between Obi-Wan and Qui Gon.

OBI-WAN
I have a bad feeling about this.

QUI-GON
I don't sense anything.

OBI-WAN
It's not about the mission, Master,
it's somethging...elsewhere...elusive.

QUI-GON
Don't center on your anxiety, Obi-
Wan. Keep your concentration here
and now where it belongs.

OBI-WAN
Master Yoda says I should be mindful
of the future...

QUI-GON
...but not at the expense of the
moment. Be mindful of the living
Force, my young Padawan.

I played my own version of Martin Major's deck that I had played in the final the prior year. There are a few slight differences but it's basically the same deck. Mine includes Archon Investigation, has a couple fewer Deep Songs, a couple more combat cards and has a copy of Fish so the deck can count as a Guruhi deck for TWDA purposes.

So, like, why not 5 copies of Nana? The version of this that I'm playing (which isn't that fantastic or anything, but still reasonably solid) uses 5x Nana and a Fish. And also a Batsheva. But then, it isn't super weenie-ish, and uses the Presence too. Probably why it isn't that fantastic :-)

But in any case, why not 5 copies of Nana?

Because the deck needs lots of actions to win. If the top 6-7 crypt cards included 5 Nana, that's instant death. Wider View helps a little, but I can't be assured of drawing it. It's better to have no Nana than all Nana, as evidenced by the final.
