What’s… the point of having “official VEKN judges”, exactly?

There seems to be no actual consequence of that title… or will some kind of announcement follow about what they are actually meant to do more than/different from “uncertified” ones?

We certainly cannot use those few people to travel around the world to judge all events, can we? And then the 60 days clause on top… weird stuff.

Is it just for bragging rights?

Why the negative undertone?!?!

This is a great move in stepping up the competitive playing format for everyone involved. This is no different from any other serious competition environment, it will add further legitimacy to the competitive format of the game and most importantly consistency.
There will eventually (hopefully) be plenty of certified judges around which will ensure the rules are consistently applied for the first time ever for VTES. In the short term, it would make sense that the certified judges do the job whenever possible and definitely at the larger events.

It might not be perfect right now (who knows?) but I´m certain any shortcomings in the setup will be addressed as and when needed.

A big thumbs up from me at least, I really like the direction things are going.

Certifying judges is a nice idea.

Although I hope this doesn't cause organizational problems in the form of having a negative impact on the number of events being run.

For example, for several years I used to run tens of events with more or less knowing two things about the finer points of rules and especially rulings: jack and shit... ;)

Everything went fine in any case and I don't recall a single instance where people had any problems with the tournaments I ran.

Will it be possible to "book" official VEKN judges for big events, for example Grand-Prix tournaments?
