The Metaplot Cafe

BJD metaplot:
Becketts Jyhad diaries was created as a metaplot buffer between 2004 ish and V5. Paradox deliberately threw input in about it so it would be official and bridge into V5.
Important notes:
There are retcons. Specifically all of the Clan Novel cycle is fact, but Anatole didn't off himself. Also, its unclear if the Brujah trilogy happened or not, but Xaviers alive, Hardestadts alive(but Pieterzoons leading for him, hes in old age induced torpor) and I'll throw up anything alluding to the trilogy happening if it pops up.
You will feel like they pulled every character from a vtes card. Bloodlines are especially like this, with LeDinTho being impersonated by Kementiri, Serena the White befriending Beckett, Matthew and Obaluaye showing up, and what feels like a preemptive parade of LK HoS and Samedi rolling through some story arcs. The Book Of The Grave War (written by Esau/Jacob at the bidding of hell if I know) is a McGuffin pulling parts of the Narrative forward.
Lastly, BJD contradicts V5 on a few topics, but since they are essential to the metaplot of V5 making sense that BJD is right, we will assume BJD is right.

Timeline: BJD doesn't time stamp things Gehenna didn't happen, all sources state the Week Of Nightmares did. We are left to piece together that between 2002-2004 is the earliest parts. More scary, its almost certain that EVERYTHING in BJD happens between this timeframe and 2008, because of the huge events stated to happen in 2008 in V5.
I'll group metaplot stuff along with little tidbits about established kindred bh what chapter it appears in.
There's alot, I'll be brief. I reccomend buying this over any other Onyx Path sidebooks. Its layed out in letters, transcripts of conversations, emails, etc, with our-of-character narration at the end of each paragraph. All documents are prone to having handwritten notes scribbled in the margins by Beckett, Lucita, Anatole, Aisling, and others.

1.
Carna obtained a copy of the Book of the Grave War (here after this McGuffin will be referred to as tBotGW or BoGW) and began acting irrationally, breaking from Hierarchy and according to Akawa, has amassed a following and went anarch (p8, while in Milwaukee)
Decker still prince of Milwaukee, Carna killed Victor and left after she was staked and delivered to him for attacking the other Primogen.
2.
Beckett meets Xavier and Inyanga as a pit stop between Milwaukee and Chicago. They discuss Eye of Hazimel and Cyclenical Gehenna.
Beckett meets with Criatas in Chicago. Menele is heavily influencing him. Beckett meets with nicolai(tremere Primogen) at art gallery about Carna for info. Ublo-Satha is watching them from a skylight.
Beckett tries to get info on Carna from Erichtho, who wants him to investigate a young Torrie named Portia who's gaining influence. Portia is Helena. Beckett barely escapes.

Starts with email chain of Guil telling Pascek that Vitel isn't dead, Pascek emailing Bell to go figure it out. He tells Bell to change his email, as he isn't based out of the cook islands. Bells email:

Buy the book for full story. Beckett and Bell come across Talley. Hes working for Lucius Sejanus (Marcus Vitel) who didn't die. That's why he was laughing when they “killed" him. They offed a shadow twin. He escaped into abyss. Hes setting up DC as his non-cam,non-sabbat kingdom.
Vykos left DC before this all went down.

Silverson Still prince of Birmingham. Hes part of “Camarilla war council" with:
Jan Pieterszoon- Hardestadt is in torpor, Jan is taking advantage of this to lead in his place and make good decisions about removing Sabbat. Hardestadt apparently has been removing Jan's memory at his leisure.
Calbullrashi- Prince of New Orleans. (Marcell died in Katrina) tremere would be been killed by his own clan, had he not BSd his way into princedom. NOLA threatened by sabbat, Anarchs, Samedi, Setites, Serpent of the Light, and Pisnob among other things. Calbullrashi barely holding it together, but assured council all is good. Meeks is securing Baton Ruge.
Marianna Jessup/Thatchett- opposing Sabbat in Richmond, using Enrathi ghoul mercenaries.
Goldwin-working on taking Baltimore from Sabbat. Baltimore is weakening, but anarchs are creeping in. Kat, Goldwins progeny, is secretly anarch, and would side with Sejanus.
Beckett goes with Silverson to rescue Aunt Bedelia from Atlanta.

Beckett goes to London, initially meets Basingstoke and Gotsdam. Inquires over state of things with Queen Anne as well as recent masquerade breach.
Monty Coven is an important name circulating. Beckett.meets with him and another pack leader, Declan, who challenges Coven to monomancy, and looses.
Coven/Mithras are a gestalt being, far greater than a sum of their parts, and are systematically destroying all opposition and licks who know of pre-mithras coven, by using other enemies as tools. Coven has met with Kementiri.
6.
Beckett meets up with Fatima and Tegyrius in Jordan. Find out The Shepherd will.soon awaken and begin the Culling.
They travel to Palais-Royal in Paris.
Pieterzoon(who encouragesBeckett to record this event), princes of London,Berlin, Paris,and many Cam elders are there, including Ian Carfax, Tremere Jusicar, Diana Iadanza, Toreador justicar.
Tegyrious officially speaks on behalf of the Viziers. Sorcerers, and those who reject the web of knives of clan Assamite: he requests Sanctuary from the Camarilla and recognition as part of their organization.
Silverson has a vision(which he sends to Beckett as a screenplay) or the Assamite curse being broken.
7.
Beckett heads to LA. Meets Ramona, Victoria Ash, and others
Cock Robin and Kriten Bellamy (Archons) are in town.
This all happens before Tara flips from Baron to Prince.
Important: the Cam is warring against Wan Kuei invasion, to the point of using Anarchs tp help Instead of just pursuing anarchs.
Also, much of the Vampire:the Masquerade Bloodlines PC game is now canon.

On to Santa Monica. Speaks to thin blooded prophetess who claims to hear the voice of Addemar, 5th gen Malk. Acacia is under Jenna Cross’ protection in Santa Monica, as is a rumored “Last Daughter of Eve" type .
Jenna cross is Smiling Jack's progeny, circa 2004.
This chapter nominally just weaves in that thin bloods up to 16th gen are a thing, which matters more in V5 setting than the preamble, but it makes sense that the strong ish Jenna Cross would be harboring them, if they are increasingly more frequent.
9.
Beckett is invited by “Gilbraith" to come to meet the Regent in Mexico City.
The hotel they were to meet her at bursts into flames as they drive to it. They are called by Vasantasena and go to meet her at the Indian consolate.
Vasantasena states many things: the Sabbat has only one True Seraph (presumably Jalan?) And one acting seraph, torpid as of that night, and they had 1 more who was the first to fall to the mortals war on terror (given that the regular hand had Jalan, 2 assamites, and Eleimelech, who the hell knows….).
16 years ago, Gilbraith met final death 16 years prior. Vasantasena, Jalan, and a Tzimisce kept the charade up this long. She thinks Eleimelech may have done it.
Sabbat have launched a Gehenna War in the middle east, following US troops. They are also embroiled in civil war.
They visit Lucitas “Sister" High Inquisitor Maria Sandoza. She wants Lucita as Regent, to fix the Sect and take out Nergal, who she believes is under Mexico City running amok.
The 4th Sabbat civil War is probable, and many Sabbat (like Palonia) are in for the Gehenna Crusade.
10.
To Montreal. Meet with Alfred Benezri, Mercy, inquisitor, frere Marc, and more. Mercy figured out there's a demon under Montreal.
Investigating dissapearances. One survivor keeps ranting “Dastur Save Me…” (Dastur Anosh Faked his own death, per other v20 sourcebooks) much if montreal problems is war with BH.

Port-au-Prince Haiti
Beckett wants to secure information about the Samedi. The city is contested by setites, serpents of the light, Lasombra antitribbu, and Samedi.
They gain audience with Josette and the Baron. Baron answers questions with questions. His sire was either sired by Lazarus or Strohman.
12.
Beckett is looking for Hesha, who's off grid.
Lucita inquires Fatima al’Lama, no Hesha, but Angelique has been acquiring allies from Setites and Mla Watu(laibon cappadocians) for her Cappadocian cause.
Archon Justin Stone(gangrel) leads Cam defenses holding the line at AnnArbor and Toledo against the Sabbat in Detroit.
Hesha was experimenting with the Eye of Hazimel(henceforth EoH) on possibly using it to find Set by popping it into younger Snakes.
Hesha is taken captive (with EoH) by fire court of Setites, rescued by Beckett, Lycita, Okulos, Al’Lama in Luxor.

Beckett interviews Smiling Jack in Libertatia, East Africa, a floating, moving anarch gree state.
Brujah justicar is 10th Gen Cardoso Pinto, shes a short woman with short hair who brutally opposes Anarchs, especially domains that have harbored Smiling Jack.

Beckett is ambushed and essentially drugged and interrogated by some laibon:
Ulwazi(Mla Watu)
Augustine (XiDundu/Lasombra)
Rilwan (“Obayifo")
Vanessa Soro(Akunanse, calls self Bonsam)
Sanaa(Follower of Set)
They “discuss" Gehenna cycles, clan origins, and mention a ritual that can turn blood old to new and back again.

Beckett is taken in by Tepes and his brides.
They fight a Wight in an abandoned gargoyle eyrie snd and find a piece of the sword of Dracula. There's a plot to free and kill Kapula by Tepes.

In Russia. Baba Yaga is dead. Nicolai still prince st Petersburg.
17.
Mexico City. Investigating what happened to !Tremere. Beckett taken and sawed on by Dr. Varona, blood brother who claims to be able to make more BBs via a ritual. His circle lives inside his corpulent mass.
They investigate the remains of !Tremere, pickup some files.
Beckett meets Karl Schrekt in Hong Kong. Karl says Tremere killed all antitribbu, and is controlling Goratrix body somehow. States the thing in Vienna isnt Tremere. Etrius is protecting it though. Karl and Meerlinda would kill it if able.
Tsang Kwon tells Beckett many things: confirms Tremere lives in Goratrix. Claims part of Saulots soul is in tremere worm and part in a mortal youth. Tremere (real one, wearing Goratrix) is in fact supporting Carna. The “master of ravens" is supported by Saulot-worm in Vienna. The sailor work is an albino thing with 3 black eyes, its it's a chrysalis.
18.
On to Carthage, encounter with Katherine Weise.
Cristof is with them. Its revealed both Brujah are diablerists(meaning Cristoff eating an elder setite is canon now, along with taking out vukudloc, Leo, and the parts where he led gangrel and cappadocian against tremere-tzimisce war. But Anezka not mentioned here)
They encounter True Hand member TickTock man.
They Meet Al-Muntathir in Carthage who is very informative about history.
TickTock man kills him, fights the brujah, all.escape.
19.
Beckett in possession of EoH, heads to India to attempt study with Hazimel, who is isolated from his clan. After months of the higher up Ravnos deliberating what to do with the eye. (apparently they weathered WoN better than other Ravnos) they send for Beckett. They decided to reunite Hazimel with his eye.
Beckett ends up giving it to him, he and Beckett share brief psychic link. Hes United with Chandraputra, they need to find their sister to deal with Wan Kuei and Ravana.
*this whole thing oddly doesn't mention the WoN or the Antideluvian, when clearly it takes place after these things should've happened (remember, Antideluvian wakes up in like 1999, when eyes in play from Leopold before Hesha contains it*
20.
Beckett finds evidence in the black monastery that Ambrogino Giovanni communicated with part of Cappadocious. Augustus pursues breaking the shroud, hiding in the shadowlands while wraiths destroy the skinlands, then ruling what's left. This is the endless nights aim.
Of course, Gino told cam and Sabbat this. Cam was told by another “informant" that such a plan was cappadocios’ plan and hes dead, Sabbat wasn't mostly concerned. One HoS was, And Gino still gives him names to this night of Giovanni practicing the ritual.
21.
Beckett finds out about an important Salubri happening. Starts out in Johannesburg in the remains of a Baali nest.
Beckett and Rebekah, former inconnu monitor, go to Romania to find out what false Golconda advocate Master of Ravens is summoning Tremere and Salubri for.
Beckett talks to Rebekah about Chicago politics while they wait, contenders for prince are: Maxwell, Kevin Jackson, DuSable, sur Walter Nash, Capone, and Maldavis. Also mentioned that Soverein could be ventrue Primogen in the city.
Tremere and Salubri responding to Master of Ravens call include:
Matthew, Obaluaye, Franckel, Kyoko Shinsegawa, And Izrafel(!salubri, who was recently in sabbat civil war).
Ravens offers Tremere as meals to Salubri, who refuse. Offers Salubru to tremere, and fight breaks out. Ravens and Beckett fight, Beckett pulled into inconu castle.
22.
Calebros invites Beckett to investigate Niktuku possibility in NewYork City.
Hellene Panhard is Prince.
Turns out it wasn't Niktuku. Beckett runs down Lambach, then returns to investigate. He gets ripped apart and reassembled by Ilias (a Tzimisce) who says the Eldest is no longer in new York, but found himself and seeks the council of his siblings.
23.
Beckett seeks Anatole in Jerusalem. Many mortals and Malks ste digging up something ancients tomb. Beckett gets driven crazy and helps the malks dig. The Tal’Mahe’Ra pull him out of this servitude. He says something interesting: “malkav. Malakai. Arikel. Lilith. Children and mother. Mekhet is free and Malakai follows.” THE bh plans on freeing Malkav so his madness stops infecting the land and kine
Serena the white rescues him from the true hand. Shes an edenic groundskeeper, hired by the Ashirra in Jerusalem to possibly find out the resting place of a Baali methuselah.
The malks were allegedly drinking malkav from the earth, preforming a ritual, he now lives in them all.
Serena helps Beckett through the madness hes afflicted with.
24.
Vykos tells Beckett via drawn out email that his child has the BotGW in Berlin. Abraham Wolff currently prince Berlin.
After run ins with Dylan, Strohmans men, and his childe, he escapes.
25.
Beckett arrives at Prosperos island carrying infernally tainted wounds and a body bag containing the staked body of one Sascha Vykos.
Prospero performs healing rituals on Beckett then Vykos, as they explain that there's a new trinity forming in constantinople, Mary the black(and Michael in her body with her) and one more, they're only missing one member.
26.
Beckett needs Bindusara to repair his copy of BotGW. Bindusara requires him to glean more information on the necromancers as payment. So he head to venice.
Lia Milner makes contact with Beckett. She knows of a recent meeting between multiple branches of the Giovanni family(her requirement for compensations a meeting with Sejanus) . With Beckett present, she conjures a ghost who reveals the details of the meeting:
Rosselini family are to contact and make allies among tremere (its mentioned that Isabel Giovanni has some sway over former justicar fi Zagreb) as well as other blood sorcerers (sorcerer Assamite and Nagaraja)
Dunsirn must maintain being Investors and buy camarilla power players, as they already hold large amount of Cam debts. Isabelle distrusts Euan Dunsirn, the primary Dunsirn.
Pisanob are to hire selves as mercenaries to Sabbat and investigate HoS presence, much to their objection.
Giovanni and Putanesca are supposed to make allies if the Lasombra in religious and organized crime overlaps.
Miliners will offer monetary backing for large Anarch cities like DC.
Ghiberti will “join" laibon.
Paul Sardenzo will meet with other minor families in person or in shadowlands due to their online security being recently compromised.
Isabel is personally to meet with members of cappadocian bloodlines in Alexandria (its neutral). And find out where the True Vessel is.
Its huge to the ruse that they seem to be splintered off.
Beckett contacts Hesha to arrange for the meeting to happen. Hesha passes him a note (so the wraiths cant hear and report what happens in the meeting at this hotel in venice) stating that Beckett will be helping Hesha stake and abduct Isabel at the conclusion of the meeting.
The meeting happens under the opera house in Alexandria. Khurshid Khurshid of the Lazarenes is first to arrive. Hes wearing an ornate sun mask, and he and Beckett try one another in ancient languages to pass the time.
Isabel contacted him for the meeting, which he feels indignant about but allegedly the Capuchin asked him to attend.
Next to arrive are Isabel and Josette. Khurshid comments on how drastically different their visages are, and removes his mask.
Angelique arrives by stepping from the shadowlands when Hesha asks who speaks for the cappadocians. Immediately, its brought up that she considers Harbingers of skulls cowards for “hiding” while the Venetians hunted the Cappadocians.
Josette bears no grudges, and maintains that Samedi link to cappadocian is merely theoretical.
Also, Khurshid blames the Gangrel for voting against Cappadocian inclusion in Camarilla.
Arguments go for over 2 hours. Khurshid insists that the HoS were trapped before Augustus was even embraced, but Angelique disagrees. She despises Giovanni and implies an alliance with FoS. Isabel cant seem to get “true vessel “ into conversation at all. Hesha is carefully observing it all.
When they finally calm down and agree that they are all pieces of the clan (or clans) of death, Isabel asks if anyone has heard of bvb the true vessel. Josette laughs, Khurshid affirms its somewhere safe, Angelique adds that safe is away from the Giovanni. Josette laughs harder.
Angelique says she will trade it for blood and suffering Giovanni.
Khurshid agrees, and will trade it for the demise of the Pisanob. Because Pochtli escaped early and left the others to rot.
Josette will trade it for Augustus’ copy of Anexhexeton.
Angelique demands a few moments alone with Augustus.
Isabel denies all, claims none of them have it.
Angelique rips a hole in the shroud, traps them In the room, and summon neverborn to their location.
They have to escape into the shadowlands.
They reappear in Alexandria library. Hesha uses presence to hold Isabel in place while Beckett stakes her, Khurshid and Josette help keep her from escaping. (Of note, Josettes thanatosis decayed the neverborn just like flesh). Josette is unsettled and retreats into shadows.
Hesha stuffs isabel into.a suitcase and says shes going to the dream courts of Cairo.
Khurshid telepathically communicates with Isabel. The HoS will arrange her rescue in exchange for the whole Pisanob line. It was agreed to. He also tells Beckett to disregard the hostility between him and Angelique, it was a ruse to confuse the Giovanni. Lastly, he says that the HoS are advised by Roger de Camden, former advisor of Mithras, current adviser to Coven.
Its implied the Setites may join the Camarilla.

26.
Opens with letters from Becketts past involving the death of a kine woman lady Emma Blake dying 9-23-1888, as well as newspaper clippings from London from the time.
Aristotle writes Beckett stating several texts have been stolen or replaced by fakes, most likely Ayisha Jocastians ghoul servents.
Becketts progeny is still hunting him.and the other child of his own sire.
27.
Beckett searches for a Tremere bloodline and the path ends at Rasputin.
Beckett tracks him to Rio, where he meets Vykos, who has been tracking Rasputin with the blood he left behind when Vykos wounded him upon arrival in south America.
They find him eventually, and he serves a brotherhood of ancient vampires who make a haven high in the Peruvian Andes, and seek the destruction of all errant bloodlines. Rasputin is being hunted by the Drowned legacies, the indigenous bloodlines of south America, who have integrated unseen into the western Sects since Europeans arrived on the continent.
(These drowned legacies and their claims to not descend from Caine are quite interesting, hopefully they are like Laibon, where only a few are obviously descended from one of the 13, while others are harder to trace. Like Osebo are African Brujah, different enough to have instead of but nobody can state for certain that Guruhi are anything other than descended from a bizarrely cursed Nosferatu methuselah. )
Lostundo- shapeshifters who take on traits of who they feed from, they cannot use disciplines in the dwelling of someone unless they consume their blood. If they consume all from a victim, they alter themselves to look like the victim.
Karai Pyhare- can squeeze into impossibly small spaces, feed as part of intercourse, and frenzy if too much of their skin is exposed until they find some small cramped space.
Cipactli- ancient and reptilian, must sleep in water. They cultivate whole tribes or hi rises worth of kine over decades to consume in a ritualistic slaughter. Claim Tlacique to be a separate bloodline they respect, and Setites to be thieves who stole their ancestral discipline.
Kalku- puppeteers, can control targets v iy a movement of hands and wrists. Very vulnerable to attacks by mortals.
Unhudo- look dried cadavers the lower the vitae in them is. Hunt by slumping under shaded trees and grabbing victims before using their discipline to cling to surfaces to take off into the canopy.
Titlacauan- control reflections like Lasombra do shadows. As they approach frenzy, a thick smoke oozes from their head and shoulders.

Beckett wins sword of nuln from an auction where nobody else bids on it. (Nobody bids because Dylan Bruce is after it, so Beckett keeps telling everyone he dropped it Into the Mediterranean. )
While in Benghazi, Beckett and Serena the white come under fire by Tel’Mahe’Ra.
Middle east and north Africa is in turmoil with Kine war and airstrikes, attacks by the true hand, and anarch-Ashirra conflicts.
Beckett heads to Naples and finds it overran by a cult of ghouls obsessed with thinning vampire populations to make room for an elite line of vampires. From there he heads to Rome. He speaks to the Nosferatu Maginardo for info: Romes rebuilding in the wake of Lados waking up and gunning for the Camarilla. Perth, Liverpool, Atene are now Anarch domains.
Beckett is invited to a gathering to represent the mnemosyne.
Its It's in Strasburg, and is a party meeting of bloodlines. After Beckett, a “Lazarene", 2 kiasyd, and an Ahrimane arrive.
Khurshid, a baali, possibly a gargoyle, DoC, Trujah, circle of Blood Brothers, Samedi, and an alleged Lhiannan are all present.
As is Le din Tho, who gives Beckett a catalog of collected antiques.
Attendees include Isanwayen, Macoute, Theresia(DoC, child of Sayshila)). Stoneman is apparently the one who organizes these gatherings.
The grouping claims credit for the blood curse in Berlin. They claim to currently be aiding the Society of Leopold against reckless kindred. They claim Miami, Montreal, and Mexico City will be hit first. Then they claim it but joke. Later the Baali assures Beckett that the Llin nor the Molochi would allow the cabal to succeed.
After Baali and Trujah leave, party is crashed by a coterie of Alastors.
Coterie is: Edwin, infamous scourge. Sigismund von Streslau, a tremere skilled in crushing wills. Catriona Pederson, tremere prodigy. Jackie Lacey, degenerate double agent still holding ties to Sabbat. Christine Daae’ is a Toreador who imitates or becomes famous mortal singers, and allegedly talked the group out of killing Karen Anatos once. The coterie is effective at killing, and snuffed the vampire who holds record for shortest duration on the Red List (Malkavian Haruka, masquerade breacher who went around Stockholm dressed as Japanese school girl immediately before demise)
It turns out that “Le din Tho" was Kementeri in disguise. And she slipped Beckett a letter. She has some of his diary, and will use it against the sects If he doesn't take a coterie to Egypt (she and her agents cant get in) and unearth a very old coffin. Then deliver it to Castel d’Ombro(Lasombra stronghold)
Beckett makes arrangements and his team is all vamps who would be incriminated by his Diaries Release: Bell, Talley, Fatima, Lucita, Aisling, Okulos, Khalil, Vykos, Hesha, Ramona, Nitocris(Isabel Giovanni defected to setites n changed her name)
They hit the sarcophagus. Ancient Enochian. The group agrees that Beckett will open it at dawn, then either talk to whatever it is or sink into the sand. Then they will deliver the sarcophagus filled with the Alastors to Kementiri.
So, Beckett and Lucita take the sarcophagus to the chambers below the castle. No Lasombra are present, because Montano owed Lucita a favor and appeared in Madrid. Lasombra flocked there like groupies.
The Anathema Dylan, Alex Swift(who may be infernal) , Petaniqua, Valerius, and Kementiri ambush the pair. They open the lid. Anatole, who was worried for his dearest friends, stakes Maior, delivers one hell of a blow to Swift, just as the others open the lid and the Alastors pop out. Anatole scoops up his friends and runs. Anatole stole the diaries back. The sarcophagus lid said “Enosch".
Beckett and Anatole know what was within. Beckett may fear it, be protecting it, or been mind wiped by it. Anatole mentions that even the Antideluvians are just puppets in the Juhad, appearing powerful when it suits them.
The book gives potential outcomes or the box:
Its Ynoch, who states the Jyhah is a weak construct that can be broken by those seeking to escape it. He then departs to confront the IC and remake the Cam.
Its staked Enosch, Beckett removes it. He rampages across the middle east, drinking only humans, threatening food supply. He slows in Saudi Arabia, falling victim to the Keening. The True Hand pounce, hoping to restore his mind and have an ally.
The box contains ash, which is sold and starts wars.
The box is Sutekh. He starts war, the Ashirra, Assamites, and True hand slaughter off many Setites. The clan denounces him, splintering, and he drifts into the shadows to play the Jyhad like his siblings.
There's an afterword about the obvious big stroke metaplot stuff.
