strix + touch of pain. was created by porphyrion
could a methuselah play both strix and a touch of pain on the same action?
does the order matter (i wanted to play the touch of pain first)... i thought the bleed was 'resolved' (it was successful, by card), or is this not correct?
thanks a lot for your input!!
strix (@superior striga).
Only usable when a bleed against you is successful. The bleed burns no pool. Instead, this vampire taps and enters combat with the acting minion.
touch of pain.
Only usable when a bleed against you is successful or a referendum passes. Play after resolution.
[pot] This vampire inflicts 1 damage on the acting minion. Only one Touch of Pain can be played each action.
[POT] As above, but for 2 damage.

You can play both, and you can't choose the order. Strix must go first.
Strix causes the action to burn no pool, but leaves it as a successful bleed. Confirmed in [FZD 20120102] .
So Strix goes first, causing a combat during resolution. (All combats occur during the resolution of some action. [LSJ 20070629] )
Effects that happen after resolution (like Freak Drive or Touch of Pain) go after the last combat in an action. [a followup LSJ 20070629]

(Emphasis mine.)If you think altering it into "The bleed burns no pool {but remains successful}." would be clearer, let me know. That's a quick change that doesn't change how the card works, and that I can do on the fly.

They [the combats] all occur in the resolution phase, though. There are no effects that force
combat in the "who can block" phase or what have you.

After the last combat.
