If someone asks which card you chose from your ashheap, you tell them at the time (or before you commence anything else). They should be able to determine the missing card by looking at what is missing from your ashheap.
If someone wants to know what is under the Erciyes Fragment at some later point, you don't have to tell them because, most likely, your ashheap contents have changed and the Erciyes Fragment area is secret.

It's good that the power gamers are forced to show us their Wider View card. Puts them off their game and gives them less ability to be a dick.

Yes, Brandon, that's EXACTLY what should happen.Wait, what? That seems contradictory. How can you say that you don't need to show people what crypt card you remove from the game, but that cards you remove from the game are public knowledge?
Are you saying that you don't have to announce specifically what cards you are removing, you just say, "I remove a card from the game and put it in my 'removed from game' pile?" And if they ask what card you removed, do you then have to tell them? This is a very semantic distinction.

I always just look at everybody's out-of-game cards without asking.
this includes their decks. people get so defensive when I do that, for some reason.
