I also had a quick question related to this topic and didn't feel like researching the rules:
If banished VampireX is tapped when banished do they untap during the untap phase hence being available for regular blocking if/when they are re-influenced?

The banished vampire comes back into play untapped.
rulebook sec. 7
At the end of your influence phase, any vampire in your uncontrolled region with a number of blood counters on him equal to (or more than) his capacity becomes controlled. The vampire is turned face up and moved to the ready region, untapped.

Controlled cards are untapped in the untap phase. Uncontrolled ones aren't.

Which is interesting for some tricks, like Banishing your own vampire + Undue Influence as a form of Freak Drive. And the Corporal Reservoir + Descent into Darkness trick.

Controlled cards are untapped in the untap phase. Uncontrolled ones aren't.
