file The Eternal Mask and Contesting an Unique Vampire

14 Jan 2014 15:58 #58587 by Franz
Let's say I target with Eternal Mask a vampire in an ash heap that is already in play.

I put the unique vampire in play and he will contest his copy, right? Now, while they both are out of play contesting, what happens if I choose to burn The Eternal Mask in the vampire that first took the action? Does the contested vampire burns? Or he, being out of play, can't be targeted by Eternal Mask burn clause and keeps contesting his copy?

Thanks in Advance

Correct.

You can't burn the Eternal Mask without burning the vampire at the same time.

"You may burn this card and the chosen vampire during any untap phase." Both cards must be present.

Or he, being out of play, can't be targeted by Eternal Mask burn clause and keeps contesting his copy?

That's right.
