Timing of Blood Shield effekt
Blood Shield
Type: Equipment
Requires: Osebo
Cost: 2 pool
Unique equipment.
The minion with this equipment may prevent 1 damage from an opposing minion's strike each round. If used to prevent damage from a hand strike made by a vampire with capacity 6 or less, that vampire burns 2 blood.
Does the supposed cap 1-6 opponent have to burn the blood before it heals damage, or do they occur at the same time?
The rulebook says:
Damage resolution has two steps: prevent damage and heal damage.

Before healing.

Correct.
- aggravated hand damage (so preventing that is probably better for you, even if it causes you to burn blood)
- effects based on the amount of damage you took, such as Disarm

You use it to torpor a vampire with two blood. It's the opposing minion that burns 2 blood if it is cap 6 or lower. Right?
Oh, duh, complete brain meltdown as I read the text, sorry. You're correct!
Note that burning blood won't send the opponent to torpor - you simply burn as much as you can. But obviously if they no longer have enough blood to heal the damage from your strike...

So in practice, yuo'd probably use it if you were facing shenanigans such as:
- aggravated hand damage (so preventing that is probably better for you, even if it causes you to burn blood)
- effects based on the amount of damage you took, such as Disarm
A reason to use skin of steel *before* blood shield would be to *not* to beat the offender. Or in case you are facing a high damage strike, which will be followed by low damage additional hand strike. Both of which are cornercase. As are Osebo with fortitude

Edit: Disregard the above due to meltdown reasons
