Baltimore purgue: if I control a lasombra, I choose a vampire or I choose a vampire who is not older than this vampire? There is an "instead" but we're not sure of the extent of it (non-english natives)

If this vampire is Ravnos, this action is at +1 stealth. Put this card on the acting vampire. During your untap phase, burn this card, and each other Methuselah chooses a ready vampire he or she controls who is not older than this vampire. If you control a ready Lasombra, you choose the vampires instead. This vampire and the chosen vampires go to torpor.

You choose a vampire that is not older.

The "instead" is replacing the fact that without a Lasombra, that Methuselah chooses the vampire. With a Lasombra, you choose the vampires. In either case, the vampire must meet the same age restriction because that isn't changed by the "instead".
