My predator's smudge is deranged, During my turn I steal him with Malkavian Dementia. Smudge takes the derange action to move it to another vamp. Does smudge immediately return to his owner (the vampire is no longer Malk, thus cannot be affected by Dementia,) returns at the start of my next untap (dementia text,) or remains mine permanently as the dementia text no longer affects him, causing him to not return?

When you play Malkavian Dementia, you create a temporary control effect that lasts until indicated, that is your next untap phase.
It doesn't matter if that vampire changes clan afterwards.

Take control of a ready Malkavian that another Methuselah controls until your next untap phase. When you play Malkavian Dementia, you create a temporary control effect that lasts until indicated, that is your next untap phase.
It doesn't matter if that vampire changes clan afterwards.
