Rules Question: Obedience - ended action was created by nisu_advanced
Hi all,
I've got a doubt with Obedience, is the ended action considered unsuccessfully or it's just cancelled?
For example, Blood brother A is attempting a Bum's Rush on Arika and she force's him to obey, could a second BB play a Hay Ride to atempt the same action?
I hope I’ve been clear enough despite my poor English level…
Here you have card text:
Obedience
Only usable when this reacting vampire is about to enter combat with an acting younger vampire.
[dom] Untap the acting vampire, do not tap this reacting vampire, and end the current action (and combat). The acting vampire cannot attempt the same action this turn.
[DOM] As above, but do not untap the acting vampire.
Hay Ride
[san] Only usable after resolving an action (successfully or not). Choose a Blood Brother of the same circle as this acting vampire. As your next action, that Blood Brother may play the action card used for this action from your ash heap as if from your hand.
[SAN] As above, but the cost of this card is reduced by 1 blood.
Thanks!

Obedience ends the current action, so there is no way you can further modify that action with an action modifier like Hay Ride or Freak Drive.

The successful / unsuccessful state depends only on whether the action was blocked or not. In any case, Obedience doesn't cancel the action but ends it immediately: action modifiers or reactions cards can't be played because there's no current action.Hi all,

Is a combat action that ends when "about to enter combat" a successful combat action?

Whatever the action is, if it was successful (eg. not blocked) then it is successful, and if it was not successful (eg. blocked) then it's unsuccessful.
In both case, the action is ended when Obedience is played, and the successful or not state is unlikely to trigger anything outside the action.

Sup?

Obedience doesn't affect that. If the action was successful (case 1
above), then it was succesful.
If it was unsuccessful (case 2), then it was unsuccessful.

No. Obedience ends the action. Unlike combat, in which many things
can be done as combat is ending to forestall that (or to squeeze
in other effects in that window), there is no "as the action is
ending" phase -- there's a "after resolution, but still during
the action" window that many cards, like Freak Drive, use. But
Obedience ends that action earlier than that window -- up near
the start of resolution.
