Cost still payed for swirlied masters? was created by gymim
If i attempt to play a master that costs 2 pool, and it gets swirlied, am i still out 2 pool?

It depends on the card text of the cancellation card.
If it says "no cost is paid", you don't pay the pool cost. If it doesn't, you do. For example, you control Walks-With-Might (master cards cost you +1 pool), and play Rotschreck (master card, frenzy). The target cancels it with an Abombwe reflex card. You pay the pool. (There are probably less convoluted ways to do something similar.)

Wording templates: “Cancel a card”: A "canceled" card has no effect, but it is still considered played. Unless explicitly written, cost for the card is paid.
