So with Kine Resources Contested:

can u divide the points into 4-0? I know dividing points or cards in other games you can do this--Fact or Fiction from MTG, etc.

No you can't. In VtES divide among two players means both have to have at least 1 point.

Also, notice the difference between KRC (where you must divide between at least two players) and Lily Prelude (which allows for a 4-0 split)
