Play wake, replace. Wakes don't force you to attempt to block.

So play Second Tradition and burn the top card as part of the cost "to attempt to block", then replace.


CORRECTION: In order to attempt to block, you have to be able to burn the top card (as part of the cost).
So play Second Tradition (can be cancelled), then replace, then pay its cost (including burning the top card of your library as part of the cost "to attempt to block") and resolve its effect.

If your library is empty, you cannot play Second Tradition.
