Replace after resolve

Do you always replace non-action, non-strike card after paying the costs and resolving the effect?

For example, after you play Black Market Cache, do you replace it when the Cache is already in play (with equipment under it), and thus you can replace it with equipment card from under the cache?

Search your library (shuffle afterward) for up to three non-unique equipment cards and put them on this location, face up and out of play. If you would draw a card from your library, you can draw one of those cards instead. If this location has no cards on it, burn it.
