file The Barrens and impulse

Methuselah A has The Barrens.
Methuselah B has Cursed Abattoir.

Methuselah A passes his turn with The Barrens unlocked.
Methuselah B begins his turn unlocking all cards.

During Methuselah's B unlock phase, a Freakish Conglomeration burns 1 life down to 0 (card special text) and so the zombie burns.

Methuselah B adds a counter to Cursed Abattoir.

Questions:
1) Is "after a zombie burns" a window?
2) Does Methuselah A get the impulse after Methuselah B adds the counter during the "after a zombie burns" window?
3) Can Methuselah A use the impulse to use and tap The Barrens?
4) If Methuselah B does not add the counter to Cursed Abattoir, can Methuselah still use the "after a zombie burns" window to use The Barrens?
5) If Methuselah B does not have in play Cursed Abattoir, does Methuselah A get a chance to play The Barrens when Freaking Conglomeration burns?
6) Are any of the answers to these questions different if the Freakish Conglomeration burns during the minion phase instead? For example due to combat or a directed action which resolves inflicting damage or burning the ally.

No, it's a condition/trigger. Cursed Abattoir is a triggered effect based on that condition.

Triggered effects can be played/used right after their condition is met. The impulse defines who "has the opportunity to play the next card or effect." It cannot be used to deny the opportunity to play an effect whose conditions are met.

If multiple triggered effects have their condition met due to the same event (for instance, a zombie burning triggering Cursed Abattoir and Tension in the Ranks), then the impulse is used to order these effects.

It is wrong to think that the game is driven by the impulse.
It is driven by the effects the players want to play. The impulse just tells you who has the priority for similar effects.

For instance, if B also has a Vessel, he can:

- choose to use the Vessel before burning the Freakish Conglomerate (they both take place "during the unlock phase")
- burn the Freakish before using the Vessel
- burn the Freakish, then pass the impulse (not using the Vessel), then gain it back if someone uses the Barrens during the unlock phase.

However, after the Freakish has burned, all Methuselahs can play effects and cards related to this condition, even if the active Methuselah hasn't used his Vessel yet.

2) Does Methuselah A get the impulse after Methuselah B adds the counter during the "after a zombie burns" window?

Only for effects that trigger or can be played using that condition. Methuselah B would have the priority for such effects, until they pass.

3) Can Methuselah A use the impulse to use and tap The Barrens?

Not in that scenario, because the Barrens is not an effect triggered by that event (the zombie burning).

4) If Methuselah B does not add the counter to Cursed Abattoir, can Methuselah still use the "after a zombie burns" window to use The Barrens?

No, for the same reasons.

5) If Methuselah B does not have in play Cursed Abattoir, does Methuselah A get a chance to play The Barrens when Freaking Conglomeration burns?

I think you mean "use" rather than "play", and I assume that "when" means "after" and that you are refering to the same condition/trigger.
No, for the same reasons.

6) Are any of the answers to these questions different if the Freakish Conglomeration burns during the minion phase instead? For example due to combat or a directed action which resolves inflicting damage or burning the ally.

It follows the same rules.
