file Hunt Question - Harvest Rites

27 May 2026 10:19 #117120 by steveharris
The latest text for Harvest Rites from the txt file or csv file you can download shows the wording for Harvest Rites to be:

+1 stealth action. Requires a Sabbat vampire.
Put this card on this{} vampire. Once each turn, when {this vampire} successfully hunts, {they gain} 1 additional blood. A vampire can have only one Harvest Rites.

However, the team rulings from 11 May 2018 says:
Rule change #2: Hunt
Vampires now have a hunt value of 1 by default, that indicates how much blood they gain when hunting (from any source). Cards that increase the amount of blood gained by a hunt now states +X hunt.
Some cards also reduce the amount of blood gained by a hunt (-X hunt). A hunt is not successful if the amount of blood gained is 0 or less (but the hunt action can still be successful), the same way as bleed works.

So has Harvest Rites been updated to match the ruling from 2018, or is it still the wording as per the file? The difference being the original wording is once per turn, but the team ruling would suggest multi acting allows for gaining multiple +1 hunts per turn.

Hi,

Card got an updated text, as am aware this was done with preparation for Print on Demand and New blood for Sabbat.

Warning: Spoiler!

Latest text should be up to date with the ruling.

I don't know where this comes from, but it's not accurate.

The cardlist did have that "+1 hunt" text for quite a while (reverted to the "once each turn" limitation in 2025, IIRC) - see for example discussions like www.vekn.net/forum/generic-v-tes-discussion/80356-what-if-we-updated-these-cards?start=48#112181

There was a period where the work-in-progress CSV was public, it was probably taken from there.
