Selling Out. was created by cameron
Hello,
I'm trying to sell all of my cards on ebay. I'm having a really hard time figuring out how to group them for sale and trying to assign values to lots. I didn't play enough to know which cards are really desirable. I have found some card lists that tell me which ones were rare, but from what I remember, cards didn't stay rare as expansions came out. I decided to just sell them by set because selling them in smaller lots or a couple of cards at a time would probably drive me insane. Here's a link to my listings:
www.ebay.com/sch/cameronb14/m.html
I have a feeling that the prices I set are all stupid, but I guess I'll find out for sure soon enough. I'd appreciate suggestions that would help me sell, I think I've only ever sold a motorcycle on ebay before. I don't understand how to set up the shipping, I can't tell if that's all messed up or not.
Anyway, Thanks in Advance.

The good, perhaps great news is we can offer advice. The bad news is your prices are, as you assumed, high, and most would tell you unrealistic.
The problem is, most people buying vtes cards have already by this point picked up most of the "filler" stuff in the commons of every set. My playgroup has a box everyone donates too. I have commons from every set, and i didnt ever buy bloodlines, ds, etc.
So, you have both cards you can get money from and some you cant.
Any 11 caps, search other ebay sellers for ideas. If rickstock has something cheaper as a buy it now than you have as a starting bid, folks are gonna go with him. You are in the states. Texas has a few playgroups. They may buy you non- easy selling stuff. Or contact rickstock see if he wanta it all.
Heres what i saw people would actually buy:
Daring the dawn, entombment, alexandra, arika, stanislava,
Sabbat and sw vamps,
Parity shift, earth meld....
Its scattered. I can buy daring the dawn for about $5. If you offer me daring the dawn and some random stuff id use, but not want to buy alone, and its $5.50, you get rid of stuff, get a tad more money, and pay the same in shipping, and i get, lets say, some indmitabilities and 2 regeneration.
Armor of terra and kiss of ra are also sellable, but fluctuate in price ALOT.
SO, as someone who is broke with another kid on the way, im telling you IF i had money, and could buy cards, i would try to get auctions on what i want, not sets. People who want sets have them, or almost have them. Small lots, with something id pay for, and some things id give $1 or less for is what id bid on, and what i did bid on, before i was broke.
My advice is check the big 3-5 sellers(rickstock, bik76,australias vtes, prunesquallor and whoever lists stuff this week,) get price ideas, and ideas of what sells. Look @ completed listings too.
Im telling you, entombment will sell better than zoo hunting ground. If i had time and wasnt just typing on my phone, id give better lists.
But id change the lots. some stuff you may have to sell real cheap, if u dont want it. Ask the barbed wire project thread on here.
Hope i helped.

thanks for the reply. what you're suggesting sounds like a sort of Booster Pack Model, except that you know what the rare is before you buy. That sounds like it would sell, but I've only listed half of the cards that I want to sell. i think i've got about 10k cards here, maybe a little less. i just don't have it in me to break them up into lots that small. and you're right, the only people that would want big lots of cards are new players and resellers. there are damn few new players, and every playgroup i've played with had one of those communal common card piles that you talked about. now that i think of it, that is probably where I got a couple hundred of these. i've already spent too much time on this project and i've still got so much of this left to go through. i don't mind selling it for a little less than what people will pay for it, i just don't want to screw myself out of a couple of hundred bucks if i can squeeze it out of this without dedicating my life to it.

You only have a few options for the bulk of the cheap stuff then, sell cheap or hold out until pod happens, see what the cost of new is, and sell around that price to new players, since acquisition of new players will be easier after pod, but market value of commons will remain kinda grey. For a small time though.

Hi. Prince of Dallas here. Having a game Sunday, August 18.
As for suggestions, I think you are better selling off individual cards and trashing the commons. no one is gonna want them.

For all the nothing that's come out of Dallas in the last decade, I'd think that "trashing the commons" is poor advice.
