Do People Trade Any More? was created by Kushiel
I see a lot of posts about sales, but very little in the way of trading via mail. Is that out of fashion at this point?

I try to trade .... so pm if your wants if you feel like and i will do the same
The thing is though, a lot of people want the same goodies. Only the more obscure cards are somewhat easier to trade. But i find myself in need of rare as well as common cards.

Vtes is somewhat unique in that most players have 6+ decks on hand at any given point (mtg, you have 1-3 good decks, a billion fun ones, but your money cards were in your legacy and one current standard deck 90% of the time)
So, we all probably "need" that extra 2 cogs to have cog-robin and Hardestadt built at the same time. Most players have a hard time shelling out money for cogs, so may trade for them.
You have certain cards, but having more copies means more decks ready to go at once.
Freak drives, eyes of argus, carlton, deep song, deflection, villein, DI, dreams, monty, are all cards you neex more of in general, especially the non-master cards on the list.
Preturnatural strength, pack alpha, heroic might, liquidation, ashur tablets, tupdog, purge, unleash hells fury, path of evil revelations, convert, chameleon, magic of the smith, second trad, parity shift, abbot, arms of the abyss, entombment, war ghoul, summon history, etc are needed for less decks across the board, but are still sought after. These are all things i see traded if you need something and will never use what youre trading or have one but not the other of similar cards (ill never use liquidation but have it, Ill trade heroic might for preturnatural because I have more or HM, you get the idea)
Most trades anymore are oddball, one deck stuff: clockwerx, coagulated entity, swoop, adaptability, sirens lure, eternals of sirius, ephor, FN 11 caps n odd rares like Mythic form.... things for narrow decks or filling collections.
Thats what ive seen the last few years at least. I missed the NAC this year, but some players want stuff and will buy and sell, some trade. The gap is how much a card costs vs uses. Touch of clarity is less useful than 2-3 eyes of argus, more useful than Augustus Giovanni, and similar ish in "great for the deck that uses it" to liquidation/tablets. Touch CAN stop voter caps and bounces. But it has a high money cost for an action modifier. I judge cards on howmuch utility or i get. 8 freak drives and I have another deck i can build, and when my freak drive number keeps up with other parts, deflections, governs, etc, i would need more eyes of argus and deep songs. I would trade things i wont use (isnt much, really) or things i can still use with less of for what i neex for more decks.
But we are a few thousand peopld on 6 continents (any players under australia yet?) So buying is often easier. But not always.
