Malcolm,

Caitiff is a clan until you use a card which requires a clan. So, when you use Embrace (for example) the Embrace 'tells itself' "I am a Caitiff".

Con Boon asks for a nominated clan. Because Caitiff is not a 'clan proper' then Caitiff cannot be chosen.

Therefore, I see no reason why, If a caitiff somehow gains a clan, they should not remain Caitiff. (this is based off the rules and rulings presented thus far)

On a Caitiff's driving licence, under Clan it says "None - Caitiff." Under Sect it says "Camarilla".

When they upgrade to being a Brujah, the Clan bit gets covered in Tippex and replaced with the word "Brujah".

Caitiff are clanless (by the rules).

If you aren't clanless, you can't be Caitiff.

(But there are other ways of being clanless e.g. Call the Great Beast. It's a necessary, but not sufficient, condition.)

No. She becomes Camarilla. Changing to Caitiff is handled the same as changing
to a clan.

Burning the CI changes them *back* to Caitiff. i.e. when Salubri, they weren't Caitiff.
