map-pin The starter deck mashup project

I have not yet attempted it.

Did you prefer the 2 of the same deck starting point, or the 1 display box of starters, like the Black Hand one?

The black hand guide was great and i was hoping to do the same with LotN. I bought One lotn and one black hand starter display. I just bought two of the KMW !gangrel starters because i felt more interested in playing that deck because of its theme and style.

I've seeded the forum, so if others want to take up the challenge they will have the building blocks right at hand.

I'll attack the 4 decks from a box part of the challenge on another night, I lack motivation tonight, and I won't be back at my home before Friday, so it may not be this week.

A short while ago, I got one of each of the available starter displays from White Wolf...since that time I've made each box into 4 decks that match the theme of the precons. Each deck I've made has an 88 card library, meaning that they're not as optimally focused as they could be, perhaps, but after trying them out they're quite playable, fun, and generally fitting to the original theme of each original precon.

Why 88 cards? Well, I like building 90 card decks, but I build 88 card ones instead, generally - because 88 + 12 = 100 which is perfect for having the right amount of sleeves :)

For the most part, each deck was made by mashing the two matching precons together, pulling out a few cards here and there, and then replacing them with the 'leftover' cards from each box. So generally each is a fairly faithful 2 precon mashup but with a little tweaking to round out the contents using the leftovers.

I don't know if I will have the energy to do a detailed list that includes my thought processes on the subject like the awesome articles that Adonai has done, but I could certainly post copies of all the decklists - should I? Wonder if you'd like to see what I've made. :) I made them primarily for friends and new players to borrow if they want to try out something different, but I sometimes use them in our weekly playgroup, and they've definitely picked up victory points if not always a win :)

I'd be interested in taking a look.
