Yes I thought this also initially — however what happens when there's no other text? Just an empty white box? or no white box? either causes issues.
I think the current approach is most likely the best as it uses official (albeit new) card text as is without modification. The only difference is there's a new spot for clan name and group.
Quick fact: 7.5% of cards refer to clan by name without icons (this exclude cards where the clan is a requirement).

At least the sect should be in the same block as the clan, since those are the two traits that all vampires have.

This would affect 22% of crypt cards (320+).
I don't think adding unnecessary information is a solution:
The one on the left is much easier to parse.

Flavour text is not an unnesesary information, it's the way to make boring cards (like most vampires without abilities) into something interesting.

In this scenario it would make a plain vampire look like it has a wall-of-text special — which is counter productive:
