considering someone was prematurely ousted and lost all chances of scoring more VPs in that round, I'd say it's perfectly "fine" to not reward cheating with 6 pool and 1 VP.

WHOA WHOA WHOA

Who said it was cheating? It was explained as an honest mistake.

You are of course right. But who did say that the predator of the wrongly ousted player spent each and all of his resources to oust his prey?

I'm in agreeement with Kevin on this one. In addition to making one play error, the player who did the ousting must have made many legal play actions which put his prey in range of the oust in the first place. It seems overly punative to me to take away both the 6 pool and the VP in this situation, as that judgement punishes a large amount of completely valid play, in addition to punishing one play mistake.
I'd probably have split the difference; take the 6 pool away, but leave the VP intact. Of course, as has been said before, these situations are always going to be an awful one to resolve, and there is no one satisfactory answer, merely different judge's opinions about what is appropriate... above is my opinion.
