file How to use Blood of Sandman in Play

Blood of Sandman (Thaumaturgy / Blood Sorcery)

+ stealth action. D Burn an ally.

+6 stealth action. D Put this card on a ready younger tapped vampire.
Reaction cards this vampire plays while tapped are canceled as they are played. Burn this card if this vampire goes to torpor.

----

I folks, would someone on this forum help me understand how the superior effect for this card works in play? I've read it several times, but I don't quite understand how it works.

Thanks in advance.

I never see in any game to someone play this card.
1st to say correct text on this card is:

+6 stealth action. Ⓓ Put this card on a ready locked younger vampire. Reaction cards the attached vampire plays while locked are canceled as they are played (their cost must be paid still). Burn this card if the attached vampire is in torpor.

So when is attached vampire locked, any reactions cards what him play are canceled-no effect.
As locked him probably tru to play any of wakes,or unlock cards-but these cards dont work.
and if cards cost, him must pay for it.
If him for example play superior:

Read the Winds

Do not replace until after this action.

ia +1 intercept. This vampire does not lock for the block.

IA Only usable by a locked vampire. This vampire unlocks and attempts to block with +1 intercept, even if intercept is not yet needed.

Him need to pay cost blood, but him dont unlock and him can replace card-because no replace efect is also canceled

By default, reaction cards can only be played by unlocked minions. Some cards can be played by locked minions ("usable by a locked..."), for instance the wake cards (On the Qui vive, Wake with Evening's Freshness, Eyes of Argus etc.) or cards such as Second Tradition or Organized Resistance.
Blood of Sandman cancels those cards as they are played, denying the attached minion from taking profit from them.

Thanks for getting back.

I’m still not clear how this card is played. If opposing minion has this card played on them, why would they even try to play a reaction card?

I’m not sure whether this is just a poorly worded card, or I’m missing something very basic.

They can play them to cycle, but they have no effect. So indeed, they'll probably don't waste their cards with that minion, but it also means that minion will never be able to "wake" at all.

The purpose would be to deny them the ability to "wake". I have considered this, but so far made no deck involving it.
