Can't be as simple as "Any card placed in the ash heap is considered burned". Discarded cards are not considered burned: there were recent discussions and ruling on the topic.

Nevermind me, I cannot find a reference for this

Burn Option allowing you to discard the card but that card will not be cosidered burned is nice prank then.

FYI searched the google group quite extensively to find if played cards are considered burned without luck.

Found this ruling where LSJ confirms that the action card used in a successful action is burned and put in the ash heap.
