Hard disagree. Last year is also "before X". Next week is also "after X"
My brain cannot fathom anyone thinking that these are exact.
I am happy that you added the new official time window so immortal grapple is no longer played in a time window that doesn't exist. That was one of the most egregious examples of "before"-timing. Now we just need to expunge this illogicality from all cards.

"before" and "after" are defining that exact moment. They are not vague as they indicate the exact moment compared to X.

Let's say sequencing is W, then X.
"before X" seems to perfectly fit in between.
So "W", then "before X", then "X" seems perfectly clear to me.

In a game with a rules set the term "before X" clearly doesn't relate to "last year". Dunno where you get that idea from.Hard disagree. Last year is also "before X". Next week is also "after X".

the timing windows are effectively immediately before or after the trigger, with the exception of "play before range is determined," which should really be "play before maneuvers," but we love our legacy holdovers here.
