Luna Giovanni

One question I wanted to answer with this deck is whether Luna Giovanni can generate enough votes to build a viable deck around her. I've been running this deck some in our local playgroup and it's been performing remarkably well so far. Though, I think there's been some luck in my table positions. Aside from the fact that a well done intercept wall or rush deck could easily shut this down, the biggest complaint I have revolves around vote push. When there are a lot of votes on the table, I find that I have to pitch nearly all vote cards just to make a vote work. This means that I really only get one good lunge in a game with heavy voting. I've recently updated the deck to include Awe and Victor Donaldson to help generate votes, but there still really isn't enough presence to do this.

What do folks think? Is this worth perusing?

-How do you intend to oust?
Build up vote cards in your discard pile, do the math, and pass votes when your able to. This could require several rounds of discarding/calling votes you know wont pass in order to build up the number of votes you can generate.

-How do you intend to keep from being ousted?
Deflection and Consanguineous Boon for bloat.

-What do you want your ready region to look like (ie, how many guys are you planning on getting out)?
Using governs and wider views, I'd need to have out Luna, one other titled vampire, and as many weenies as I can muster. Ideally, Luna, Don Michael, Margaret,Cristobal, and Thomasso

-What do you want your average turn to look like?
Early game: govern down to rush out as many vampires as I can. Mid game: Call and pass 2 votes the generate pool damage each turn.

What's your metagame like? How do your opponents play?
The Seattle meta is pretty varied. We play weekly. Players tend to favor decks that require building up before lunging, but this isn't always the case as we'll see an occasional presence weenie deck show up. Wall decks are less popular these days, but rush combat will come up every few weeks as well.

What problems have you observed with the deck in play?
Luna's special alone doesn't always generate enough votes to compete. Is the answer to add more titles or vote push?

Independent: Luna has 1 vote (titled). During a referendum, Luna may remove X political action [POLITICAL ACTION] cards in any ash heaps from the game to gain X votes.

I'd remove 8x Consanguineous Boon in favor of 6+ Voter Captivation, perhaps drop governs as well in favor of accelerating masters (Info Highway, 2 Sphinx more, perhaps Zhilla's Valley for your champ) and maybe replace your small vamps with 8+cap if you add Zhillas. Combat really toasts you, so double up on banishments and add 2xGolconda. Adding some Obedience and/or Majesty could be good as well.

Ah and much more card-cycling masters, like barrens or whatever you find (even Fragment of Nod) would help. Since your master package would get fat, perhaps you need to add Parthenon(-s) and Rumors.

If you add fat titled 8caps, you solve your vote-pushing problems as well, plus you can actually play that Legendary Vampire mid-game.

Thanks for the feedback kombainas. I like the idea of trying out higher capacity vampires to get votes. You're right that I'd have the change the master module for that. One thing I liked about the weenies was all the actions. At a table with few voters, I can start pushing votes through right away. Of course, that isn't always the case.

Well, the problem with your weenies is that they are not weenies at all. Hence, Cons. Boon would not be too effective. If you would add Breed angle, it would a different story. You would have some combat defence then. If you added some intercept location to your library to give away intercept for favors, you could even block rushes at stealth until you draw that banishment. You would be able to generate more votes by adding some Firebrands or something similar.

But then again, it is a different focus altogether from the one offered before

P.S. If you used bbcode export option on Secret Library, every card you posted would be a dirct link to the card text in Secret Library site. E.g. 4x Hektor 9 for CEL POT PRE QUI !Brujah:4

I was thinking of a similar deck but with higher cap vamps. Carmine, Lady onstancia, Luna giovanni, and Don Micheal Antonio Giovanni! Of course the deck would have to focus on getting big vamps out fast, then surviving long enough to get your vote machine working.

In your deck, I think I would have three legendary Vampire in a 90 card deck. Dreams is good for dumping hand clogging votes, so is the barrens.
