Card idea: Inconnu Monitors was created by Ankha
With the unending debate of whether or not Ashur should be trumped, I exhumed an old card I designed a while ago.
Name: Inconnu Monitors
Cardtype: Event
Inconnu. Do not replace until a Methuselah's ash heap is empty.
During each Methuselah's untap phase, he or she may remove up to two cards from any Methuselah's ash heap.
It's slower than Trochomancy but more consistent and vulnerable to Not to be or the Uncoiling. And it totally kills the Yong-Sun, Harmonist tournament-winning archetype.

Nice, but would'nt it be possible to handle ashur with the cards already in printed ? My guess is yes, but your mileage may vary...

You were also able to deal with PTO and Return to Innocence with the available card at the time
More seriously, it's far from being game breaking enough to break the back of every deck using Ashur. So it may expand the pool of slow deck by allowing more easily thoses who can't use ashur efficiently.

Even if the answer is yes, it might only be yes for some deck types. Adding methods of screwing with Ashur (and possibly also certain uses of Anthelios) to other decks might well be useful. Like adding a new bleed reduction card to Protean wouldn't necessarily imply that bleed wasn't handle-able by other methods.

While I like the concept (perhaps a tad too fast - in a 5-player game, the Ashur user will lose 10 cards per turn), but this card puts a nail in the coffin of an already near-dead Necromancy...

8. It won't remove its own cards.
Yes, thinking about it, I'd be mildly concerned that while this might impinge on an Ashur's deck, it might well kill Shambling Hordes dead. (Let alone Necromancy's other recycling options.)
