file [Submission]: Maman Brigitte (Samedi)

Samedi is really one of the weakest clan in vtes. Creating more weak cards for them is pointless. Instead of adding inferior disciplines which probably won't make a difference I would decrease capacity (to make it 8) and gave her all four disciplines at superior.

As things currently stand, if a few Samedi could get a decent ousting discipline or two, things would probably improve for them. They have a lot of support (stealth, multi-acting, combat defence, weird-ish combat), not enough payload. That's part of why I suggested Presence specifically - you can play a bunch of fairly decent bleed cards, and in the 2/3 pairing, Reg Driscoll could possibly help out.

I know that adding dominate usually helps, but instead of introducing out-of-clan disciplines that are good, I would rather see good offensive cards that require samedi and/or their in-clan disciplines. Reanimated Corpse is perfect example but it would be good to have something else.
And only two big vampires with access to inferior discipline (in case of pairing with reg driscol) doesn't seem as a base for good deck to me.

Designing vampires who have an out-of-clan discipline or two in no way affects creating library cards that boost Samedi and/or Thanatosis. You can create a Thanatosis bleed modifier, even if there is a Samedi with Thaumaturgy - it will still benefit that vampire.

It depends on your play style. Some people like building decks that are based around a small number of vampires, with 3-5 copies of each of, say, three vampires in the deck, so that they can fairly reasonably rely on having two of them out. In that way, you can just use the disciplines you have available - it's not like Maman is only in a 12 card crypt twice and Reg once, if you choose not to. Presence would open up obvious opportunities like Legal Manipulations. With Maman having a title, there are some possible political options - perhaps as the second string to a multi-acting deck. The Samedi have always seemed like having potential for a multi-acting bleedzooka - so maybe you use The Summoning to search for Tasha and JS Simmons, or to flip back to corpses if the situation dictates.

That's not, of course, how everyone likes to play. If you prefer to play a wider selection of vampires and focus more on the disciplines shared across the clan, that's totally fine - but it's not what everyone does.

Hi Alek,

I should have reposted the full card following my post at 06 Feb 2015 18:29, in which I upped the disciplines. Here they are:

Name: Maman Brigitte
Clan: :same:
Level: Basic
Group: 3
Capacity: :cap9:
Disciplines: :pre: :FOR: :NEC: :OBF: :THN:
Maman Brigitte has 2 vote (titled). Once per combat, she may burn one blood to prevent one damage inflicted to any other minion in combat.

(Increased vote to put her on par with The Baron. If still not considered 'good value', I guess +1 stealth might explain why she hasn't been seen ;-) )

Level: :adv:
Group: 3
Capacity: :cap9:
Disciplines: :aus: :pre: :FOR: :NEC: :OBF: :THN:
Maman Brigitte can move up to 3 blood from herself to a younger vampire in your uncontrolled region as a +1 stealth action.
:merged: May prevent one damage once per combat.

(For the ability, I did originally think of Owain : "During your untap phase, if Maman Brigitte is ready, you may move a blood from the blood bank to a Samedi you control" - maybe that'd be preferred?).

last versions are good enough IMO and the Owain version is even better. If such card existed I think it would be worthy to build a tournament deck around it.
