We have played 6 player tables without any rules changes. All works quite fine. Actually my experience is that it's harder to pass political actions at big table, so +1 pool is kind of justified.

In theory it's harder to pass votes, but that's not actually the case at our table. And I feel if you're gonna hit for 6 pool, then you should have to pay the 2 blood like Reckless Agitation.

I think you are loosing big part of fun from a ccg when you start adjusting rules when the problem can be solved by adjusting decks.

Touche. However, that argument is semi-invalid because we're speaking of a variant that is against the rules anyway (having 6-players). I feel that since the card Reckless Agitation exists, you should not be able to take advantage of a 6 player game by using Conservative Agitation.
Also, between the six of us we have around 45 decks. No way would I waste precious library space for the off chance the Ventrue get out of control.

Nope.
The rulebook actually starts with the following (emphasis mine):

Granted, the tournament games are resolved in tables of 4-5 players. For obvious reasons. But 6 player games, like, say, 2 player games, are not against the rules.

I've had some pretty fun 8 player games.
I have no interest in ever doing another 17 player game, though.
No rules changes were used (to my recollection) for any games over five I've played in, whether 6, 7, 8, or more.
