Are you counting on the Customs fees?
In Portugal that's 25% extra... :(

Huh?
Percentage FEES on top of VAT!?

What kind of system doesn't use flat fees?
It is not like they need to do more work if you are importing 50 bundles instead of 1...

Shees!

Oh you people who come from well organized countries.
You are so cute.

$1656 + $138 = $1794
21% VAT for that sum is $348 ($5 per bundle)

Plus possible tax (don't know if Spain taxes playing cards).

So grand total would be $24+ $2 +$5 = $31 per bundle (plus tax?)

We haven't received our order yet, but we reckon the total cost will closely match your figure.

I've checked on the Customs site and as far as I can tell (the site is a mess...) currently the tariffs on goods classified as Playing Cards imported from the US is 2.7%, plus the regular customs fee of ~10€.

In Brazil the tax are 60% of the total price + shipping plus R$ 15,00 plus random chance that a tax accountant is in a bad mood an apply a fine off 100% over the difference between the alleged price and the calculated price.

And we have laws saying that cards and book dont need to pay import fees, but if you form a file claiming that, you encounter another one in a bad mood that will apply you a fee for a false claiming.

After pay all that you can still have your package stolen and lost :pinch:

I'm glad it might have changed since the last time my stuff got stopped and I had to pay 27% plus 'customs warehouse fees' .
It was not in in the last few months, so the law might have changed.

Did you order cards?
Please let us know how that went for you.

It might not - they do have a lot of leeway on classifying packages and determining the appropriate tariff, so it is quite possible that whoever handled your order decided to apply a different rate for some reason. Or maybe he 'forgot' to read the point in 2.7%...

Also, if your order was sent through a shipping company (and not regular CTT) and they get to handle customs, you will be charged quite a bit extra for the service.

I have not made my order yet but will probably do so soon, I will let you know.
