Question:

What means a asterisk (*) on the player's Rating of a given tournament?

I have noticed that some players have that (*) on his last tournament Rating. But other players that played the same tournament do not.

I have noticed too that some players have that (*) on Rating of tournaments from years ago. Some have that (*) on Rating from intermittent (not consecutive) tournaments.

Searched the forum but couldn't find that rating's asterisk meaning.

The (*) marks the events that are used in calculating player's current rating points. Only the 8 that give the most rating points are used.

I ran across NEW ARCHON just today on another post regarding Spanish Nationals:

"¡Here is an important Notice for all attendees!

All players must be registered into the New Archon (archon.vekn.net/index.html) by Friday"

I don't recall ever seeing anything about this new way of displaying rankings.

Doesn't seem to differ from the rankings here except the new one displays more than 100 top players (500).

Anything else we should know about it?
