New Rulebook new Thread.
Great work to BCP on the new Rulebook.
To keep this cleaner, I make a enw thread, so it is clear, that the contents of this thread are about the 1.1 version of the Rulebook.
Link to the Rulebook:

Until BCP/VEKN confirms, that the online rulebook is the same as the new PDF, all posts should relate to the PDF rulebook version 1.1

I think that has been said elsewhere alread, but it would be nice, of the file haf a version number in its filename, so if the rulebook changes again, links dont get misleading.
On to actual points:
Acording to Rulings, environmental Damage is effective at any range, unless the card says so.
groups.google.com/g/rec.games.trading-cards.jyhad/c/MKJghrVVAMw/m/UCh2_EbE9AEJ
This should be reflected in The rulebook, at least under environmental Damage,as the current wording is potentially misleading.

The range determines which strikes and other strike resolution step effects can be used

The very concept of "R Damage" should be loaded into a cannon and fired into the sun. Vincent once said that it doesn't get used in the French translation (at least i think that's what he said. I may be wrong about that).
Most, if not all of the cards that deal Environmental damage at only one range or another say so on the card.
Strike: R Damage should be changed to Ranged Strike: Damage, and the wholly unnecessary built in exception to the rule can be eliminated.
Environmental damage should be effective at any range by default, and narrowed by card text.

It would be nice to have real writers/copyeditors produce the rulebook. I spent five minutes looking and see misused punctuation, inconsistent style, wrong word usage, and unnecessarily long descriptions of simple concepts. Also, what is with the advanced rules that aren't really optional? There's either a garish red box with white text or side bars that are weirdly in a different font on almost every page. I understand there was a real effort to make the game more accessible to new players, but I don't think that was accomplished here. Lots of room for improvement still.

@Hobbesgoblin could you please add the link of the old thread www.vekn.net/forum/rulebook/79258-rulebook-potentially-misleading-and-oddly-placed-passages#102825 to the top post (for easy navigation when the old one starts becoming buried) as there are several things that haven’t been addressed from there in the new rulebook, thanks.
