file Loving agony + target vitals

I believe that target vitals is usable with Loving Agony (and Catatonic Fear for that mattter) and that the opposing vampire takes 2 extra damage if it takes 1 from Loving Agony.

But can the damage from Loving Agony and Catatonic fear be prevented with regular fortitude prevent cards?

Loving Agony, Combat, 1 blood, Valeren/Animalism, C , [HttB:C]
Only usable at close range.
[ani] Strike: hand strike at +1 damage.
[val] Strike: combat ends and the opposing minion takes 1 damage.
[VAL] As [val] above, and this vampire may burn 1 blood to untap before combat ends.

Target Vitals, Combat, U , [LotN]
Aim. Play when choosing a strike. If any damage from this strike is successfully inflicted on the opposing minion, he or she takes an additional 2 damage from this strike, and he or she cannot press this round. The opposing minion may discard two combat cards [COMBAT] to cancel this card. A minion may play only one aim each strike.

Nope. Fortitude damage prevention cards are combat cards, so they can't be played when the damage from LA/CF, and therefore Vitals, hits (which is after combat). IIRC, the only way to prevent damage from those strikes is Leather Jacket, which doesn't specify that it can only be used in combat.

Correct. [LSJ 20070727] (damage counts for Target Vitals)
[LSJ 20100204] (the damage is inflicted after combat).

It can be prevented by Leather Jacket, Surge, and other prevention effects usable outside combat.

That means that you cannot play Taste of Vitae on any of the damage then, right?

(just clarifying as we need it for next play session)

Correct.

(You are still allowed to play it at the end of the round, but it won't count the blood lost after the end of the combat.)
