I think we need proper wordings on the strikes too, something like:
Strike Priority:
This can help to understand the damage handle and strikes interaction.
Strike Priority:
- Preparation strikes:
- Combat Ends
- Dodge
- Priority strikes:
- First Strike
- Steal Blood
- Default strikes
This can help to understand the damage handle and strikes interaction.

No only necessary, they are crucial.
Imagine we can reprint or edit any card.
Not in 3 years. Now.
This a golden opportunity to simplify the game, make it more modern and easier for new players.
Why do you need all those sub-types of phases or cards out there?
This is truly a golden opportunity to clean the game.
It would be a pity to not use it.

Again, option "A" is better, because it is much simpler to explain to new players. Option "B" will bring changes to the game that are unnecessary.

You can do the exact same thing:
Maneuver: Combat Ends.
As above, but unlock this minion.
No more first strike.
Dodge by the rules, can be the same timing (it is already!) as what you call 'default strikes'.
Theft of Vitae is ALSO during the 'default strikes' resolution.
Remember - Strike Resolution is BEFORE Damage Resolution.
Lets end the 'Strike Priority', please.
We can have the same effects in the game in a MUCH easier way to understand and explain, without loosing cards.
Just rewording.
Old Psyches! are still legal, although it changed A LOT during the ages.
Have you read Fame from Jyhad?
Really, this B option looks great.

While simplifying the combat sequence is a noble goal, this significantly changes a large number of cards - IG becomes easier to counter, but possibly easier to cycle, set range effects are stronger, a number of "only usable before X" cards are easier to play and so forth.
This needs to be very well tested before making the change.

This summarizes what I call unnecessary changes. I agree it is a golden opportunity, but I would not like to see a card such IG being wallpapered. Could we at least add a manuever to it? Something like this:
Immortal Grapple
pot - only usable during the distance phase. manuever. If you end the distance phase at close range, only hand strikes can be used.
POT - as above, with a press to continue. If another round occurs, distance is automatically close.

This is out of topic. You're trying to solve problems that don't exist.Could we at least add a manuever to it? Something like this:
