The card only forces you to make the attempt! You would fail! You would be untapped!!

What about the Superior, which says any action?

Read it as:

[QUI] This vampire unlocks and attempts to block.

You cannot attempt what you cannot do. You can't attempt to play a card that costs 2 Pool when you have only one. You can't attempt an action costing 2 Blood when the vampire has only one. Likewise, if you don't have something that specifically allows you to ignore prey-predator or target restrictions when blocking, you may not attempt, because you simply cannot do it. Therefore you cannot play a card forcing you to block.

To be clear....the thing that prevents the Black Sunrise (beside the intended design) from being able to be used even if played at superior is the fact that it lacks the explicit text allowing you to overrule the base rule of what you are allowed to react to/block which is there in the Eagle´s Sight...the any action as mentioned only expands the inferior option without overruling the valid targets set by the base rules.

And while eagle's sight would grant the vampire the ability to block, you cannot play eagle's sight while locked just like you can't play any reactions locked unless they specify otherwise. (So you cannot play these cards in a different order either)

So a wake (on the qui vive, wake with evening's freshness, etc) and then eagle's sight would actually work.
