file Poison Pill -clarification

Hi. I know poison pill is rather straight forward card...
  • Poison Pill

    Reaction
Only usable during a referendum, before votes are cast.
If the referendum passes and the effect of the referendum causes you to lose pool, the controller of the acting vampire loses the same amount of pool (in addition to the effects of the referendum)

  • ..but just for the clarification I will ask.

    Seating is A bleeds -> B bleeds -> C -> D -> E -> A
Reins of Power is played by A, and it is not blocked. Player C reacts and uses poison pill. The vote passes even tho A then votes against his own vote. Then the next capacity vampires are chosen:
A has 13 pool and chooses 11 cap vampire
B has 8 pool and chooses 9 cap vampire
C has 4 pool and chooses 10 cap vampire
D has 10 pool and chooses 7 cap vampire
E has 9 pool and chooses 11 cap vampire

Would the next end result be correct:
A has 13+6 pool and takes 11 and 9 more (from what C LOST) pool damage leaving him with -1 pool, thus ousting him and giving VP to this predator E.
B has 8+6 pool and takes 11 pool damage, leaving him/her to 3 pool.
C has 4+6 pool and takes 9 pool damage, leaving him/her to 1 pool.
D has 10+6 pool and takes 10 pool damage, leaving him/her to 6 pool.
E has 9+6 pool and takes 7 pool damage, leaving him/her to 8 pool.

What my question is, does the 6 pool gain reduce the effectiveness of poison pill, or is only the negative loss counted?

    - Sincerely Kude

    Reins of Power

    Political Action
Successful referendum means each Methuselah may choose a ready vampire he or she controls. Each Methuselah gains 6 pool. Each Methuselah also burns an amount of pool equal to the capacity of his or her predator's chosen vampire. Only one Reins of Power can be played or called in a game.

    For reference

    Reins of Power makes
    1/ Methuselahs gain pool
    2/ Methuselahs lose pool

    and not gain X-6 pool.

Poison Pill counts the pool lost, so if C lose 9 pool (and gain 6), Poison Pill causes A to burn 9 more pool.

Of course A is free to opt to choose no vampire himself after the vote passes, thus making him only loose the 11 pool from his predators vampire (and gain the 6 from reins) which would leave him alive.

Nope. It is B who chooses how much C will lose. Even if A wouldn't choose anything, Bs choise would still be same (if not negotiated) and hurt C, thus hurting A as well.

Edit: And B would be dumb not to hurt both his prey and predator ;)
