Drop down to 12 vampires, there is no reason for you to have more than 12.

You can only have 1 copy of Hector (or any other unique vampire) in play at the same time. You are not allowed to self-contest.

Hitback may be a problem. Four copies of Rego Motus would go a long way.

i see the table perceiving hector as a threat, and the prize for takign him out may be enough for someone to take the bait.
Pauls and Malgorzata' abilities crypt cycle; might need to double up on malgorzata and paul, reduce a bit, but definitely not down to 12 lol.

i honestly dont get the big deal with maintaining min crypt size.

at the end of the day i get the vampire/effect i want and leave the rest up to chance.

each would be nice but is never NEEDED.

find me an opening crypt and ill tell you how id deal with it.

Fair enough. I appreciate that sort of approach. But if you're concerned with optimizing your crypt so that any vampire that you draw can play all the cards in your library to full effect, you would want to reduce to 4-5 Hector, since he's your star, and then build the others around him. Now he's a weird star, since he can't play one of your main cards - Govern the Unaligned - at superior. In fact, only five of your vampires can, and they're all capacity 8 or higher. That means that you probably won't be using GtU at superior: you bring out Hector, taking two turns, and then spend another two or three turns bringing out someone like Lucas, provided that you've lucked into him showing up in your crypt, and then on the fifth or sixth turn he plays GtU to help bring out... well, maybe another Hector, because there's a good chance you'll have two copies of him in your opening draw.

You see the problem? It's the disconnect between your library and your crypt that's the concern. You don't need vampires as big as Lucas and Malgorzata: they take enormous resources to bring out, and though they have excellent specials, they may not be worth it. Rather than Lucas, consider Carna, who has AUS/DOM/THA and +1 intercept (and only costs 7). Rather than Malgorzata, consider Selena, who has AUS/DOM/THA (and only costs 6). It's very easy to find an inexpensive, powerful, diverse crypt composed of vampires with AUS/DOM/THA.

i consider presence+Majesty vital for this deck.

other than hector, Lucas and Uta are all that go without.

i often consider dropping both of them and leaving the crypt at 16,,, infact i HAVE just now dropped both.

hector will diablerize; hector will get DOM, maybe pre.

i chose Paul Cordwood over carna, for an extra blood his effect goes both ways, he has presence, balances between tremere and !tremre (consideration for Hunting grounds)

with the following, what is the chance of NOT getting hector?

chance of getting mennel or Malgorzata? chance of not getting?
