file New Card Idea: Limited Movement

Not everyone enjoys playing the diverse, toolboxy decks. A card that forces everyone else to play the way you do will... not be well-received.

(Click Profile at the top, Edit -> Update Your Profile, Forum tab. All you have to do is eliminate the line breaks so the colons run together. :OMG::WTF::BBQ:)

You hit the spot Ohlmann.

The variety of different actions (in this said deck for example) could be improved by "put in play" masters that would allow different actions.

I am aware that not all clans can toolbox that great. But sure, everyone has something beside the normal actions they like to do. Perhaps increase the cost of bleed action?

Also, what about increasing the blood cost of a card already played earlier that turn, if it were to be played again? It wouldn't hinder them completely, but make it harder.

I am all For for the increase of blood cost, cause that alone reduces the ridiculous bloat that is happening.

Contrast with Victim of Habit , a card that punishes people for stacking the same card but does not force anyone to play a particular way.

Ok. So, this far, what I am thinking of going with:

Punish multiple copies of same library card (in ash heap), with 1 pool loss (any and all library cards) from every 4 cards and remove those cards from the game.

Increase blood cost of already played cards (that turn) by 1.

Increase blood cost of non-mandatory actions, increase blood gained by hunting by 1.

Too much text (and things) for one card. I guess I should split it into two.

I try to accomplish that... what what.. Hmm.. My main idea was to force players have more diverced decks, and not only bleed, combat, block, bounce or ally decks. Kind of toolboxing.

You can't force players to play a more diverse deck when they've already sat down to the table with a constructed deck.

Making another card that punishes specialization, like "Victim of Habit" mentioned by Dorrinal is not a bad idea. I would stay away from duplicating that effect however.

The other direction you could take is making a card that benefits a "toolbox" deck rather than hamper other decks.

How about:

"Parallel Aggression"
:political:
If this referendum is successful, each Methuselah may remove any number of cards from his or her ash heap from the game. His or her prey loses X-2 pool where X is the number of different card types removed.

"Limited Movement"
Event.
Gehenna. Do not replace until a Methuselah has been ousted.
Any minion may burn a duplicate card in his or her prey's ash heap to bleed with +1 bleed (d) action. Any Methuselah may take a discard action to remove any number of cards from his or her ash heap.

"Bucket List"
Unique master.
Put this card in play. When you would move a card to your ash heap, attach it to this card if there is not a card of that card type already. You may take a master phase action to burn this card and gain X pool where X is the number of cards attached to this card.

"Tool"
Master. Archtype.
Once each turn, this vampire may take an action while tapped. This vampire may not bleed and attempt a political action on the same turn.

"Tool" (alt)
Master. Archtype.
When this vampire successfully acts, you may untap this vampire by playing a reaction card that untaps a vampire or allows a vampire to act as if untapped. If this vampire is untapped at the end of your turn, he or she gains a blood.

:tore: :pre: :tem: :aus: Independent Futurist. Contrarian (titled, X votes where X is the number of votes as the acting minion.) Target Vitals is always the better combat card.

Completely broken with Madness Network.
