What about the agg drawback? If coincides easily with helping hi caps and not rewarding weenies. Aimee laroux gets burned oitright if not careful, while ezmerelda can govern at superior with little to no worry.

But the problem is that it makes the big-caps vulnerable to weenies. Losing a weenie to torpor is nothing. Losing an 11-cap is.

Actually the idea is that they can get access to a superior they have at inferior and the more they use it, the more counters they gain. The larger vampires will have the blood to remove 1 counter a turn for a while and be able to keep the ability running for longer. Smaller vampires will burn it out quickly. However, if you wanted to burn through a bunch of cards you can't play without Superior, then you can do it quickly. I actually dislike the idea of making any discipline unique, clan specific and costly I can understand, but not unique.

Well, after thinking about it, I think it's a bad idea, because it help remove a very important constraint that help making vampire different. Letting Aksynia, Konrad Fleischer, Zayyat, or Esmeralda doing some magic of smith is the exact opposite of where the game should be headed. In other word, vampires should use their discipline, and have every discipline be at least a bit worth it, not the other way around of everybody using the same powercards.

By the way, this card do nothing to help to deal with the powerful Camarilla card that don't really have any equivalent for other sect. So sabbat and indep are once again shafted.

the only thing that disappointed "recently" was Melind galbraith not having superior OBT, which for a lasombra is kind of strange :p

Might have something to do with her being a !Tor in disguise as a Las and obt being her weakest discipline ("only" 5 of potentially 8)

I agree that game balance is more important than lore-consistency, but lore-consistency is cool.

This came about as part of a discussion here about master cards that could become trifles when print-on-demand starts.

The basic master discipline cards are fine as is. So was Blood Doll and Minion, tap, but someone decided to print Vessel and Villein.

With print-on-demand, there are greater opportunities for alternate versions of cards. Reusing art for different versions of Master: Discipline cards might be acceptable.

Why is it suddenly so important that it should me easy to gain disciplines? "How does this card address a compelling game need?"

I suppose Direwolf were thinking "what master are weak enough to be put as trifle ?". He is right in that Discipline master are kind of weak, and you are right to point out that there is a reason for that, which is not that it would imbalance the game but that it would make it duller.
