New Rules for Final ? was created by Vlad
What i Propose would be a 3 or 4 rounds tournament, but the last round will be a Final using the Swiss Round method...
The first 5 play a Final, and then the second 5, etc...
The winner of the tournament will be the winner of the first table, if there is no such winner, you go to the second one, etc...
What would you all think of that ?
And as Boris said, that gives all players the same length of game...

I think the current rules are fine. Judges should add time for slow play more easily.

How do you determine someone is playing normally (but slowly) or stalling ?
Because you can't always pressure a player...

the only thing that must change for the final is the sitting rulez. It is not nice to sit down and don't know what vampire the other player are using.

It would be nice if the players wouldn't know the ranking before the finals (other that they're being finalists). Random seating implied of course. So their would be less incentive to stall for the top seed.
But that would have problems of its own. It may not be practically possible to keep the ranking secret (especially in smaller tournaments). it would require one player not participating in a tournament, etc (as accountant so to speak).
But for real:
The only loophole I see atm, is when players are ousted simultaneously, e.g. by a damaging votes. How to resolve these ties? But you get the idea above: no ranking + sudden death.

But for real:
- Have no ranking advantage within the final. The only advantage of being higher ranked (before the final round) is to be able to choose the seating in the final.
- If there's no winner (no player having more VPs) after 2h (or maybe even earlier?) implement Sudden Death rule. The first players ousting another player wins.
- If the table is split 2-2-1, the player doing the last oust wins.
